The Peerless Inn, in the overwhelming metropolis of Kolkata, is friendly, warm and modern with an aesthetically pleasing ambience. It welcomes its guests with warmth, charm and Bengali hospitality. It boasts a central location that is 100 metres from the Esplanade Metro Station, a 10-minute walk to Eden Gardens & New Market and a 15-minute stroll to Victoria Memorial.

Rated #1 for all Kolkata (Calcutta) hotels
I would recommend The Peerless Inn to anyone planning a visit to Kolkata. Every aspect of my experience there was outstanding--the room, the service, the restaurants, the bar, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff (especially Nirmal, who works at the Travel Desk). The location on Nehru Road, just north of the Indian Museum and very close to the Central Cottage Industries Emporium, is also a benefit. From here, one can make easy forays to all the major sites of the city....

This is the second occassion in as many years when I visited Kolkata and stayed in the Peerless Inn. The staff is excellent and very courteous. Food is excellent, especially the Breakfast spread that is served every morning at the Oceanic Restaurant. The Health Club facilities are decent, however, an additional Treadmill can be installed so the guests do not require to wait for their turn. Overall my family and myself had a very good experience and we will surely stay in the same Hotel during our next visit to Kolkata.

Excellent welcome - I was allowed to use the room from 8am, even though the booking was from 12 noon.

Our stay was quite pleasant. I had earlier sent an e-mail to the hotel requesting for early check-in that was arranged. Staff was cordial. Food in the restaurants was excellent.

Everybody wanted to help us. Rent a car; reserve a train; see the sights; buy some things; walk thru an Indian market; mail things home. Got everything done quickly, inexpensively with a smile. The room was really a suite, bigger than some houses I have lived in. Sorry two of the five restaurants were closed for renovation. Only had one room reserved when we arrived at 2 AM. "No problem." Second suite provided and off to bed we went.

The 'best kept secret" of a first class hotel in central Calcutta. Within steps of downtown and the Oberoi but at much less cost, as tourists we loved our stay.
