Certainly not 5* - a good 3* with a recent facelift making the restaurants cleaner and brighter. The usual package tour scrum at breakfast with poorly trained staff struggling to keep pace with demand. Pool and beach good but tacky, smelly pool towels and the latter was spoiled by rubbish washed ashore. However the beach bar was a great place to be at sunset and the "indian night" was an excellent mix of local food, great indian music and classical dance. Overall, a great break but could do better.

If I die and go to heaven it will more than likely be the Leela Palace when I get there. The staff are incredible and the whole experience was completely divine. I'd go back in a heartbeat....
