The hotel was very well managed. Rooms were clean and very good standard. Garden was very well kept. Pool was nice and clean. The staff were very friendly and service-minded. The dinner buffet was tasty, with a variety of local specialities. The only problem was the lack of internet connection. The hotel was really close to the beautiful beach. The downside here, however, was that the area between the hotel and the beach was not that clean, with a lot of trash. It seems to be the case along most of the Goa beach....

All in all Coconut Grove Hotel is a fine hotel. Even though I just spent a few days there, I noticed a lot of things I didn´t like: - cockroaches at the breakfast buffet - obviously hungry cats meouwing next to you when you re having dinner - 6 waiters standing around watching you eating while you are the only guest there - reception staff who is not able to confirm flights unless you tell them all over again how to - reception staff not informed about opening hours of shops nearby - drivers try to force you to go to a nearby handcraft-shop, to get them vouchers, even though you have to pay the extra miles yourself, if you refuse, they get harsh and tell you "why don´t you want to make me happy..." - excuse me?! maybe you should change the job. - the hotel room was nice, the aircondition was too cold and could not be maintained - either on or off, there was no refill of cold drinks on the minibar - ants in the hotel room - poor music choice - one cd over and over again - for using the internet for 15minutes i was charged 100rupees - way too much!! - the senior waiter was such a pain, like a drill instructor, it was uncomfortable having dinner/lunch/breakfast when he was around - you don´t have to speak hindi to understand when the staff is making fun of you, i mean come on!!!! So my advice would be to give the staff better training and use also english language for signs, as not all of the guests are scandinavian!!

We stayed here in March 2007 after a week in Delhi. The hotel was definitely value for money, it wasn't the most liveliest hotel but was very relaxing and just what we needed. The staff were very attentive, in fact, there were so many staff it must have been about 5 to each guest! The buffet in the restaurant was good, the Easter one especially but I wouldn't want to eat there every night and it is more expensive than the beach bars which better in variety (how they manage to make everything sand free I don't know) The fish at the beach shacks just down from the hotel were truly amazing...definitely value for money and good home-cooked food. Make sure you try the garlic bbq'd king prawns! The breakfast at the hotel was definitely worth having, a wide variety, again make sure you are there on time or they wont let you in! I also remember very helpful girls on the reception. If you want a big party place this is not for you, if you want somewhere beautful to relax this is the place. The beach isn't too busy and pretty clean. The pool at the hotel isn't as luxurious as the photo states but ample enough for a dip or you could choose to relax in the hammocks which are placed around the gardens (and away from prying waiters eyes!!). Have fun!

 Leela Kempinski Goa Hotel

If I die and go to heaven it will more than likely be the Leela Palace when I get there. The staff are incredible and the whole experience was completely divine. I'd go back in a heartbeat....
