Laxmi Niwas Palace was the personal residence of Maharaja Ganga Singhji of Bikaner. The residential rooms were designed keeping in mind the fact that they would be used by the royal family itself or by the personal guests of the Maharaja as only guests of equal status to the Maharaja would be invited to spend the night in the Palace. Rated #3 for all Bikaner hotels
The staff in the hotel and grounds were very friendly, and it did feel like a genuine palace. Close to the tourist sites, but secluded. Nice, well priced food. Breakfast could be improved. There appeared to be swings and other facilities for children. The hotel would benefit from having a swimming pool, which is being planned. We got a good price through hoteltravel.com....

The Palace is a beautiful building set in lovely grounds. The room was huge (as was the bathroom) and well furnished. The Palace does suffer a bit though from being out of town and the staff were not helpful in terms of arranging tours, etc. The smell from the pigeons roosting outside the bathroom was a bit over-powering at times.
