The nearest airport to Bikaner is Jodhpur Airport, a domestic facility to which international visitors flying into Delhi can take connecting flights. Connections are also maintained with Mumbai, Udaipur and Jaipur. Jodhpur Airport is situated 5kms away from the centre of Jodhpur from where trains and buses provide ground transfer possibilities as well.

Rail provides the best public transportation option for reaching Bikaner with trains connecting the city with regional and major national destinations such as Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Calcutta, Jaipur and Jodhpur. From Delhi, the Bikaner Express and Chetak Express are the main trains serving the city. Buses are also available from major cities but are slow and not especially comfortable with poorly maintained roads only adding to the problem.
