YMCA Salisbury Hotel

"We booked two standard rooms with partial harbour view. On arrival, the receptionist informed us that the hotel was fully booked and we were upgraded to two family suites rooms at different level. We were a bit annoyed by it initially but were very happy to see the size of the rooms. One of the family suites was located on level 7 with partial harbour view. It has a lounge with 2 seater sofa bed, a roomy wardrobes recess, and enters into the studio en suite bedroom with king size bed. A basket of fresh fruits was presented on arrival which was particularly nice. The other room located on level 11 was at the north end of the building which does not have any harbour view. However, that room was huge. It has a single bedroom sized wardrobe area, separate bathroom, separate bedroom with kingsize bed and TV, and a separate lounge room with two 2-seaters sofa including a sofa bed. Although there was no fruit basket in this room, we were pleasantly surprised by the space available. Both rooms were quiet, nice and bright with plenty of windows. The king size bed was very comfortable for us as we liked our beds a bit firm. Separate air conditioning in the bedroom and the lounge room means we can adjust the temperature to our liking. The bathrooms and tea making facilities were were clean and tidy. We asked the concierge for direction to a local dim sum place and they swiftly replied after a bit of searching. "The situation of the hotel was perfect. Close to MTR, buses and Star ferry. We had a harbour view room which was worth paying the extra for as the views were fantastic. The room was more than adequate for our needs. It was kept impecably clean and the beds were comfortable. Must dos while in Hong Kong are the Peak Tram and Peak - a walk around the top is pleasant and takes about an hour- if you do it late afternoon you'll get the best of both world because the view when it's dark is fantastic, Temple street market- Eat at the Spicy Crab on the first corner - the sweet and sour pork and singapore noodles are to die for!. Going horse racing at Shatin or Happy Valley is great fun and only costs $10 to get in. Buying an Octopus card makes traveling so much easier than messing around trying to find change.If you have time a boat trip to Cheung Chau and eating delicious fresh seafood meal on the harbour front is great. We love Hong Kong"
