"The best thing was the view from our room and the pool. We didn't like the room that much mostly because it wasn't one of their recently renovated rooms - felt like it had seen better days..."

"We had a harbor view room and the view did not disappoint. I would pretty much agree with all other reviews. The service level is excellent. They could have thrown in free WIFI for the price paid. They do not provide a shuttle from the Kowloon Airport express station and only provide limo service as of the date we stayed. The facilities were as expected, world class and opulent. The room had power curtains/shade and other nice electronic features you would expect for the price. Transportation is the only issue as it's not on the Airport express line. The K4 shuttle will take you to the attached New World hotel but be cautious, the drivers don't wait for anyone when trying to get from the hotel back to the station. The guy basically just drove through and left my dad standing there while I was inside. This and teh cab experience was our only negative of the trip and we heard others had the same experience. The cabbie was no better, trying to extract way too much money out of us once we arrived at the Kowloon Station. Everything else is close by and I would recommend just using the Star Ferry to commute over to Hong Kong. It's much better than trying to navigate the MTR up on Nathan. The area around the hotel waterfront is very walkable and relaxing. This hotel is truly the best positioned for view and peaceful space. Atmosphere is top notch. In my opinion, if you are considering a garden view room, you'd be better booking across the harbor at a hotel attached to the Airport Express station, like IFC Mall (Four Seasons, Mandarin, etc) and just take the Star Ferry over to view the skyline. Reasonably spacious, opulent, and full of world class amenities. WIFI should be free for the price paid. Opulent. What more can be said. Top notch. I think Asia hotels set the standard for the world. They were on top of things, courteous, and professional. We only ate once at the Harbor dining area. Prices were in the $20 USD range per plate. Seats were a bit worn and not comfortable. Clean and well maintained. They even brought in air purifiers for the halls on a day when the Hong Kong air was bad. Opulent. Nice hot tubs with glass on one side overlooking the harbor. Truly a treat.
Well, the harbor view is the only way to go with this hotel in my opinion. Otherwise, you might as well book over at the IFC Mall area where you're attached directly to the Airport express station and can easily take the Star Ferry across to take in the views. It's very easy and there's no traffic involved. It costs $1.70 HKD lower deck and $2.20 upper deck. Best view of the city, period. Spacious walking areas away from traffic. from the Kowloon Airport Express station which, as noted, had some difficulties on return. I wanted to use the modern train and it is fast and efficient but you're left with the short shuttle over to the hotel in that situation or a sketchy cab situation where they try to extract too much money from you.
