If you are the "on the go" type and have a lot in your itinerary for your 4 day stay, I will recommend this hotel because the location is superb! My favorite money changer, clothing shops( in granville), highend BAG stores (LV and Gucci), favorite parlor and the terminal to Macau are all within the vicinity so what else can I ask for!?? The concierge and all the staffs of the hotel are friendly and sensitive to our needs. The only thing that I didn't like about this hotel is that the facilities and room are really very old. I had good memories of this hotel 7 years ago but I guess my expectations are a little higher than what I experienced.

At check in I was asked when our flight leaves Hong Kong. I answered at 11:05PM and received without a request a free late check out at 6:00PM. Just great from the staff. At check out I expected to pay for my 24 hour internet usage, but the cashier said he can't find any records and so my internet accsess was also free. Room size for Hong Kong large. Thanks to the Hotel staff.

We had a wonderful stay at the Marco Polo Gateway. They were kind enough to allow us early check in and late check out. This meant lot since we were travelling with our 2 toddlers. In addition, since the room we requested was not available anymore, they gave us a free upgrade. Our kids loved our room and we all had a great time. There's some strange smell in one of the room I stayed in, but overrally it's pretty good. HK hotel has no heating system.

please take precaution when checking in the front desk. When i check in, the staff gave me a deluxe room where actually i booked a suite. The staff was actually trying to swap my room so that she can sell that room. She even asked us to go to the top floors to get the key of the suite she said. When i got the key and enter the room, it was only a deluxe. She actually thought i haven stay in a suite b4 and was trying to cheat her way to get the suite. I got so frustrated and called the recept and ask them to give us back what we suppose to get. And what their reply was "oh really....i think my staff make a mistake".....really lame right....and not even any appology.....therefore pls be aware that hk hotelier are always finding ways to cheat their customer.

I was traveling with my husband and three children (one was an infant). All I wanted was a clean room with enough space, and friendly service - and that's exactly what I got. I paid for a room with two double beds (we booked the triple standard), and there was enough space for our pack 'n' play portable crib. Our bathroom lock was broken - but we didn't mind at all. I thought the rooms were pricey, at first. But after we arrived, I realized that in terms of location (especially traveling with three kids), I couldn't have stayed in a better place! There was so much for us to do within walking distance (Hard Rock Restaurant, Star Ferry, Promenade, Space Museum, Kowloon Children's Park). The hotel is also attached to a shopping center, so I was able to take the kids for a walk without even having to step outside. I highly recommend this place if you are traveling with your children, especially an infant.

The hotel is in an excellent location close to Nathan Road, the M.T.R. and the Star Ferry. The rooms are large and well appointed with tea/coffee making facilities, fruit basket provided, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. This is my second stay at the Gateway and I would most certainly stay there again.

My overall experience was good - reasonable price and excellent location. However, I specified that I have a 9-mth old baby, thus needed 2 adjoining rooms (was travelling with 4 adults + 1 infant). The hotel staff did not grant my request and my hotel rooms were on a smoking level.

The receptionist was very acommodating when we asked for a connecting room. There is enough space to put 2 luggages in the room plus all the shopping bags accumulated for days. Short waiting time for elevators, many cable channels to choose from. Housekeeping was excellent, our request for an adaptor was delivered right away. However, on the day of check out, only 1 out of 3 rooms we stayed in was allowed a later checkout time of 2pm, else we will be charged for the overtime. Some hotels allow late checkout of 4pm. The size of the room is desirable for travellers who don't want to go back to a cramped hotel. Bigger floor area of Marco Polo Gateway makes me feel at home.

The hotel is excellent. The rooms and beds are big, and they do reserved a connecting room for us, which is a big plus for us since we're travelling with 4 kids. The location is also excellent, since it is very near the mtr station and ferry. Most of all, shopping is already within the hotel area.
