Location of the Hotel is fantastic! Proximity to major shopping areas, dining, tourist spots, and most of all the Star Ferry is close by and the MTR Subway is now connected to the Hotel. Dined and shopped outside of the Hotel although they have adequate and good dining and retail boutiques within the premises. If there's anything to comment on, it's the room size-small! But then again, I knew beforehand it would be cramped we've stayed here before.
One more thing, in our previous stay, there was Free email available and now, not so any longer. Would I still come back or even recommend this Ho...

I would recommend The Kowloon Hotel for others to stay in. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and professional and are willing to deal with any problems swiftly. The hotel is in an excellent location - 5 mins away from Canton Road whish is the main shopping road in Tsim Sha Tsui and the best place to shop in Hong Kong according to one of my local friends. Bring lots of money though, things are not cheap there. Canton Road houses all the designer labels you can think of and even some you haven't heard of! Harbour City shopping mall (3 malls in one!) is situated on Canton Road...over 700 shops and restaurants in there alone....
The only downside about the hotel was the restaurant and the services were quite expensive. The breakfast buffet was HKD$160 (about £15) per person....you could have a 3 course main meal for that price in the UK at a decent restaurant. Not worth it if you like your breakfast light. We used the internet service once...because it cost HKD$45 every 15 mins (about £4 for 15 mins)!
We only ordered room service one night because it was expensive. It is a lot cheaper to eat outside the hotel. Having said that, the food which was delivered was of a very high quality.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay in The Kowloon Hotel and would definitely recommend it. We went at a time when the British Pound was at its weakest and only got about HKD$11 for £1. If we went when the pound was strong (HKD $16 to £1) it would have been so worth it!
I would also like to mention the housekeeping staff who were very efficient at making up rooms etc.
Definitely worth a stay, I think!

My daughter and i enjoyed our 3 day stay at Kowloon Hotel because of the following reasons:
1. clean facilities - fresh smelling linens and clean/ right size bathroom
2. accessibility to MTR and shopping areas - the nearest MTR train is just a minute away from the hotel that we were able to maximize our time. Situated at the back of the hotel is a clothing outlet(Esprit) shop which my daughter visited often.
3. excellent service of the concierge, reception and housekeeping staff- special mention to the concierge who was able to answer all our queries and to the staff in charge of our luggage for helping us weigh our luggage
4. late check out - We were pleasantly surprised when the reception informed us that our check out time was at 6pm, just right for our 940pm flight.
5. coffee and tea making facilities in the room was a welcome respite after a day of sightseeing and shopping
This was my second time to stay at the hotel ( the first was in mid 90s) and will not hesitate to stay again on my next visit to Hongkong. I will highly recommend the hotel to my friends as well as the services of hoteltravel.com.

what we liked best is the location,everything we wanted was walking distance.
the breakfast at this hotel is superb the rooms are small but nicely cleaned and very quiet.
what we did not like is lack of free internet for customers or at least to check the emails,today everywhere you go there are free internat access whether you are having coffee at starbucks for example or eating a burger at macdonald's.
all in all it was a great holiday and we have enjoyed everybit of it and we hope to do it again. once you step out you have all kind of transports buses trains taxix ( if you need it) one last thing hotel travel staff have helped us a lot due to the short notice we have given them to find this hotel ,thank you very much for your efficiency

The hotel room was small, compact but had every facility that I needed. Very central with outstanding staff ready to help at every turn. The roadworks outside the hotel were the only slight inconvenience that I experienced! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !! Had drinks and food at the Middle Bar. First class. Only the carpets in my room were a bit tacky through use. The rest was good. MTR right outside the hotel, and taxi called instantly when I required one. Internal facing room, no views but quiet. Employee, Fei Choi, went well beyond the call of his duties to assist me with making the most use of my short time in Hong Kong!! Thank you.

I love most is the Hotel Location, it is only 2 - 3 minutes walk to the kowloon station and it is very convenient to travel between HongKong Island and Kowloon. And not so happy is the

I used to stay here for many years, then moved to another hotel out of the tourist area. Needed to stay here again. Carpets still filthy. Of course rooms are miniscule. There are other hotels that are reasonable with big rooms, but they're my secret. I left my Ipod in the Kowloon Hotel and realized it when I got on the plane. The staff was perfect in solving this situation and the Ipod is in the mail to me now. Clean the carpets, please!!!!

Rooms were clean, neat, well presented but small. I had booked two rooms as triple but wasn't told until check-in that the rooms would cater for only One double or Two single beds. We had small children so we maded do but would have preffrede to know before hand.

I read in the comments before that a lot of hotels in HK have very small rooms, I didn't actually realised that they are tiny. We arrive in HK after a skiing trip and had about 6 suitcases, there was no room for them in our room but the hotel was kind enough to store them somewhere else for us till check-out. We received complimentary breakfast and late checkout which was excellent as we never paid for it. Overall a good hotel the service was great!

Although the room was small, the hotel's location is the best. The room was small compared to our hotels here in the Philippines. But I guess being in Hong Kong were space is a high commodity the space would just be enough. Likewise the staff were very friendly and helpful regarding all our inquiries (specially at the reception and at the hotel entrance), we even had a free fruit basket, and the room and bathroom were always made up everyday we returned from shopping and sightseeing. Your only a few steps away from the shops and the mtr station. a bus from the airport drops you off and picks up in front of the lobby. We highly recommend this Hotel. Overall, hotel is nice and clean. The room is smaller than conventional hotels out there. Asians would probably do okay with it, but not so much for Westerners. The best thing about it is the location, very near shopping malls and other tourist attraction. MTR is just a few steps away from the hotel entrance. The Ferry station is about 5-10 mins walk, near the Harbour City shopping mall. Hotel is a bit pricey for me, but then again you're paying for the location.

Excellent location as the subway is only outside and walk to ferry terminal to hong kong island is less than 10mins. Avenue of stars is also only 10mins walk. Food and shops are close by and prices are reasonable. Room is small and the queen size bed is more like twin size bed. The bed and pillows are a bit too soft to my liking but otherwise, the room is clean and cosy. Request for adapter for my camera and utensils/plates were prompt and quick. I like the lifts as there are 6 and fast moving. I might stay here again as I like it but only if the rooms were bigger.

Hotel has a fantastic location but staff seem quite arrogant at times especially when we tried to check in. They told us that we arrived early and yet we arrived at 2pm their published check in time. We were told that the room was not available as the previous guest had chosen for a late check out just that day. They offered us another room in the interim and said that we will be able to check into our requested room at 6pm. Not happy with the situation we had no choice but to accept it. We came back at 6pm once again to be told room wasn't ready and we had to wait another hour or so and yet their was very little sympathy from them. Once we finally checked in we asked for a manager to contact us which never happened.

As a business traveler, in room broad band is a welcome essential. I would rather not pay but am glad to get at a reasonable price. I left my 60 Gig I-pod in the room. Housekeeping turned it in to the Lost and Found who FedEx-ed it to me in Bangkok. Excellent!

Hotel nicely located in main part of Kowloon. Rooms are extremely small but comfortable. I had a reservation for 4 days, but had to leave after 1 day due to family emergency. I gave the hotel 3 days and they would not upgrade me to a better room. Staff at desk, a lady, was very unsimpathatic and unfriendly. I visit Hong Kong every year, but I will never stay at this hotel again.

Our stay at the Kowloon hotel was a very enjoyable one. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the hotel itself was in an ideal location, just a few minutes from the Star Ferry, views of the Hong Kong island skyline and with MTR access directly in front of the hotel. A free shuttle bus was provided to pick us up from the airport and return us to the airort on departure. There was also a travel desk in the hotel lobby, which we used on a number of occasions to book up tours for sightseeing. When we return to Hong Kong, we will definitely try to book this hotel again.

I'd recommed this hotel due to location and price. KCR and MTR services under the hotel were fantastic. Requests were dealt with reasonably well give the language barriers with some of the staff. Lack of internet access in my room was disappointing. 2 single beds in such a small room meant less space to move around in.

The location was excellent! The room was quite small but it impressed us how maximized the space was and how comfortable it was. I have nothing but praise for their staff. We really had a wonderful stay.

Location of the Hotel is fantastic! Proximity to major shopping areas, dining, tourist spots, and most of all the Star Ferry is close by and the MTR Subway is now connected to the Hotel. Dined and shopped outside of the Hotel although they have adequate and good dining and retail boutiques within the premises. If there's anything to comment on, it's the room size-small! But then again, I knew beforehand it would be cramped we've stayed here before.
One more thing, in our previous stay, there was Free email available and now, not so any longer. Would I still come back or even recommend this Hotel? YES!!!

Hotel is OK, but beware of breakfast. Don't take the hotel breakfast - it's an absurdly expensive extra. Better to eat out for breakfast or buy breakfast the night before at one of the many nice local shops to eat in your room.

The room may appear a little smaller but the hotel has compensated with their excellent services & good amenities in the hotel room. The hotel has tight security and their security executive would remember almost all their hotel guest as they greet you daily. The reception desk gave a really warm welcome as they treats all guest like VIP and served which absolute professionalism.
Hotel guest would still feel a sense of privacy as the bustling Tsim Sha Tsui is right at the back of the hotel hence you wouldn't get a culture shock until you get to the back of the it. And with an MTR entrance right at the side of the hotel grand entrance & Avenue of Star is merely 10mins walks away from the hotel with a tremendous view of Hongkong Island from the Harbourfront within.

We stayed for 2 nights. The room was small but so are most hotel rooms in hong kong, but it had pretty much everything we needed, was clean and close to public transport and shopping etc. Nothing that great about it but it did the job.

Rooms were smaller than expected and very stuffy. Had to spend some time trying to air out the room before it was comfortable to stay in. Not what you expect for the price you are paying. But the location is great.
