The room 1001 is small, but clean. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from Causeway Bay metro station, or 2-3 minutes from tram or bus stop. In the evening streets around hotel are very crowded, so it is difficult to go to the metro with your luggage.
The view from my hotel room was ordinary. At the right : the street, the highway, some poor apartment buildings. At the left : some poor buildings and nices green hong kong hills. At the 10 floor your can hear some street noises, mostly vibrations caused by buses.
Behind the hotel you can find fruit, fish and other meal market, in the evening the same street becomes a chinese restaurant in the open air. You can eat a good and fresh meal if you don't afraid to eat at the street. Prices are very reasonable. I did not try the hotel grill restaurant, prices are too high for hong kong, from 15 to 27 EUR. The bar on the top floor is very small and always full in the evening, so impossible to try. But the view is very nice. A HotelTravel.com Member, United Kingdom
The bed was very uncomfortable A HotelTravel.com Member, United Kingdom
The stay overall was ok but the room was quite 'tired' and smelt of stale smoke depite a room chnage to a non-smoking room. The communal areas give the deception impression of a 'swanky' hotel! A HotelTravel.com Member, United States
We were disappointed over a few issues. first, we returned from breakfast one morning, after being gone for an hour or so, and found our room open with the maid no where to be found. she had made up our bed but apparently left our door open for anyone to come in. Luckily we were gone an hour but imagine if we had left for the day after breakfast!
We also had major problems connecting to the wireless internet service that we paid $12 for. It was supposed to be a service for 24 hours but only worked for about the first 8, and poorly at that. when we asked for help, they told us to use the business center for free, never mentioning before that was an option when we asked for internet access.
The concierge staff was helpful and friendly but the front desk reception was less than helpful with these problems. A HotelTravel.com Member, Canada
Rooms were old looking and very smoky rooms. Smoking shouldn't be permitted in hotels. The only plus is there is a Time Square mall close by, if you like brand name shopping. This hotel needs renovation for sure. Madelyn Buluran , Philippines
Thought the room is big but not within our expectation. Floor was non-smoking but smelled otherwise. Its good that the bathroom is very clean and location is very near time square. Christine Palowitch, United States
This hotel has it all: friendly and helpful staff, amazing location in the Wan Chai shopping area, minutes from the water and ferry piers, the subway and the trams. The remodeled entrance was open and the lobby is beautiful and there was always a doorman saying hello and opening the door. It was a great hotel for the price we got on hoteltravel.com. I would fully recommend staying there! A HotelTravel.com Member, United States
The South Pacific Hotel is in excellent location. You can go anywhere by public transport and there are a lot of restaurants and shopping area in walking distance. Even though the room size is quite small but in term of cleanliness it is a good choice of tourists. A HotelTravel.com Member, Singapore
Good location. Save alot of time for those who enjoy shopping. Alot of good food near by. Though the room is abit small but is not a big issue because you spend most of your activities out of the hotel. |
