I stayed at the Harbourview for one night in March 2012, and I had a great stay. For starters, I checked in early at 10AM and my room was ready within 30 minutes. I had booked a premier room but may have been upgraded to a premier harbour view room upon check-in as I got a full, frontal view of the harbour from my room. The room itself was nice and clean -- and much bigger than your average Hong Kong hotel room. I also helped myself to the complimentary water/tea/coffee in the room. I did not use any of the hotel's facilities so I cannot comment in that regard, but the staff were quite congenial and accommodated our every request (champagne glasses, iron/ironing board, and what have you). The location is phenomenal as well -- the hotel is across the street from the Hong Kong Exhibition Center, around the corner from the China visa office, a couple of blocks from the bars of Wan Chai (but in a much quieter neighborhood), and close to the intercity bus stops to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong airport. Definitely one of my go-to hotels the next time I drop by Hong Kong!

I'm impressed by the service of their cleaner. I stay for around 6 nights and I asked for a double bed at first, upon seeing the room, I was given 2 twins bed instead. It left us with no choice as that's the only non smoking room left. However on the second day when I came back into my room, what my mate and I saw is a combined bed being arrange for us! What a shock to us is how sweet the cleaner can be to provide us with 4 pillows instead of 2. All our toiletries is being place in order, it really give us a feeling of home. Overall, my 1st time staying there was great! It's highly recommend as the stay is worth the value!

Better than expected. Check in was a breeze with staff able to speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Rooms and toilet very clean, not sure but looks like just being refurbished. Excellent location just 10 minutes stroll to Wai Chai MRT with lots of local food available. Loads of pubs and clubs if you wanna skip Lan Kwai Fong for drinks. Wan Chai Star Ferry terminal just 10 minutes walk away if you wanna take a ferry over to the Kowloon area. Overall a pleasent stay and would recommend to others.

Overall, we are happy about choosing this hotel. The reservation staff responded to our email promptly and been very helpful. Staff in the hotel are helpful and pleasant especially the two male staff at the front desk. However, if you want to get the best attention and service from the other two female staff, you will need to speak English to them. So sad and shameful! Unfortunately, this is how some staff members treat their own Chinese speaking guests. We would like to give a 5 to the service rate however after we witnessed the above, we can only rate it as a 3. We will stay in this hotel again and hoping that everyone will be treated the same.

The hotel's location is not very convenient especially if you plan to travel using the subway. On the other hand, the staff are very friendly, and they're always eager to assist their clients. On the contrary, some of these personnel are not very familiar with the names of the streets. Another problem is that the surrounding streets are very dark and it seems that there is a lack of lighting outside the hotel.

Harbourvew is a really good hotel to stay at. It is clean. The service is good. The room is average size but definitely not small.The hotel is conveniently located in Wan Chai, which is a nice and safe area. The only thing that needs improving is Internet service in the hotel as wi-fi doesn't work properly. It is close to the Convention centre, the Star Ferry and to the MTR.

My stay in The Harbourview Hong Kong was a pleasant one. The room was great and the housekeeping was generous. The personnels were very courteous and greeted us with smiles every morning. I do wish that the hotel would have a free shuttle if one would take the airport express because the hotel is very far from the nearest MTR station. It's also a 10 minute walk at most to the nearest Tram. Though there is a bus stop near by, tourists like me do not really know how to ride the bus in Hong Kong.

Hotel staffs are more polite and professional than previous years. The room is clean, paid Internet Service is quite fast. Overall, I like this hotel. I always stay in this hotel whenever I go to Central Hong Kong for my business trip. There are only 2 things that I do not like about are 1) the tiny bathroom which is more like a toilet in the airplane and 2) the distance from geocery or convenience stores.

Although the room and bathroom are small, it seems to have been newly fitted out with modern fittings and are very comfortable. The shower, especially the rain shower, is excellent. The only downside is the small size of the bed. I made the right choice by choosing a room with a view to the harbour. The staff especially the concierge were very helpful and attended to all my enquiries promptly and courteously, though I can't say the same for the taxi drivers!

Most Liked: Location, very close to Star Ferry (approx. 5-8 minutes), Wan Chai MTR (approx. 5-8 minutes walk), Tram just outside Wan Chai MTR (HK2 to every where on the island and the bus stop next to the Immigration Tower will allow you to travel all over HK conveniently. Taxis a real drag as some are not that honest. Some will take you around just to earn a few extra bucks, unfortunately.

The room and bathroom are small (but I guess this is common to all HK hotels), and the lobby charges a lot for use of their computer. But otherwise can't complain; it's a great budget hotel in HK.

Hotel is just opposite the convention centre , serve a good purpose for me to stay.It is near to HK Airport express, and the Free shuttle bus to HK STATION -airport express is just across the road. So it is reasonable to take the Aiport Express. I travel to and fro from city to Aiport/Airport to city , usually by Aiport Express.

For a hotel thatI knew beforehand was formerly YMCA, with no pool nor fitness center, which I chose mainly because of its proximity to the Convention Center and for the cheaper price compared to Grand Hyatt, Harbour View Int'l House actually exceeded my expectations. The rooms were much much nicer than previous YMCA hotels I've stayed at (even though they are quite small, which is not surprising for HK). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Criticisms and suggestions: perhaps better if Wi-fi were included in room rate; also, as the breakfast buffet is so expensive, make provisions for some budget breakfast meals. In the future, adding a fitness center would be a good idea. Overall, very good experience. I'm very happy I chose this hotel

Very comfortable hotel, room was very clean, bathroom a bit tight but modern. The sheets, beds, pillows, carpets, and furniture all looked new and fresh. good view of the harbor. if your are attending a convention, you just need to cross the street. a little further is the star ferry to wanchai. the hotel is also very near the peak, the macau ferry, and the airport express centrial terminal --l about hk$16-20 cab ride (flag down rate is hk$15). I will recommend this hotel to my friends and family. bathroom a bit tight. very friendly and courteous staff. waht can i say, the location is great. ate at the tea cafe just once. food was reasonable and staff were helpful. but it wasn't very impressive. didn't mind it though, i preferred to eat out anyway. very clean, spotless bathroom and carpet. i should have brought my notebook computer. did not know it had free internet.

I liked the hotel since it was very convenient for me, being located nearby our Hongkong office in Central Plaza.I would definitely use the same hotel in one of my future visits to Hongkong. My personal opinion is that as long as the room I am staying in is new and in good condition, I am comfortable. Just keep on maintaining the place and I am sure you will have regular clients like me. The staff were proactive, assisting with your luggages, helping you find a cab. The food choices are limited but the premises are clean. The food available during the buffet is good. For the price and the location, I consider it excellent especially for business travellers. For my purposes, it is very convenient, as it is only a short walk to Central Plaza. One can easily get transportation, but the downside is the unavalibility of a driveway. When there is a downpour, guests will really get wet unless there is a bellman on stand by to assist.

The room is quite compact with little room for movement esp. if you have a child with you. Also, provided room accessories are very basic. Generally, we like the staff friendliness except on one incident when we ordered food in our room, a woman who served the food was arrogant & disrepectful. We reported & file a complaint to the manager. The hotel location is convenient to us since its very near to the clinic where my child has a schedule check-up. Also, its near to other tourist place like Ocean Park, etc.

Hotel rooms are quite spacious and clean. Room service is very efficient. However, counter staffs are not as friendly. The bellhops are too helpful as a swarm of them will rush to you to help you carry your luggage. nonetheless, the bellhops are friendly and greet you whenver you're going out from the hotel.

Get a room facing the harbour, the view is beautiful, with the Hong Kong convention centre close by. These would be half the rooms in the hotel, the other half face a tall multistorey concrete wall full of green moss. The location is amazing with easy access to the ferry, mrt and cabs etc. There are a few good restaurants behind the hotel. Easy access to stores, and a vanguard supermarket. You should visit the restaurants behind the hotel, eg Golden Sun - the sea food there was excellent. The hotel does not have a pool etc. Also note that it is a YMCA hotel. Certainly value for money - just watch out for the concrete wall.

This is a basic no-frills hotel at a reasonable price, very clean, and conveniently located right next to the HK Convention Center although the price is jacked up substantially during trade shows. Staff is super helpful.
