Great location, tried the food before and it’s good. No complaints, rate is ok but can be very high in April and December. The bathroom is clean but I have to comment on the housekeeping that uses there rags or cleaning cloth. Their cleaning cloths are smelly, you can smell it when they finish the bathroom, and the smell will be gone after you take a hot shower.

We had stayed at the Excelsior 5 years before and loved the convenience of the location and remembered the hotel was quite grand. This time around, we booked 2 Superior rooms for a week long stay for 4 adults + 1 baby. One room had a king bed and was small but comfortable. I personally stayed in the other room, which was about 1/3 larger as it was a corner suite, with 3 king singles, a crib and full size table and still plenty of room. The drawn curtains darkened the room adequately and my baby slept very well which was my main concern. I am also glad I did not spend extra on harbour view as a) curtain was drawn when baby slept and b) rain/fog/pollution meant no views anyway. The decor was still very grand" but in the 90s style - yellow/gold wallpaper and fittings and maroon marble. It was very clean and comfortable! The staff was exceptional, from reception concierge, to wait staff and housekeeping - everyone was so nice and friendly which can be rare in HK. Check in/out was quick, but checking in luggage took longer. This time around, I also made use of the health club, the bar and tried the restaurants - all very enjoyable. Overall, I would really recommend this for families with young children (who nap)!

We could not check in until 10:30 pm because of the large number of flight crews checking out late. We were compensated by meal and drink vouchers, but not having a booked room available before 10:30 pm is really not acceptable.

The check-in process took more than an hour, which was rather unacceptable considering that we had already made bookings weeks in advance. And even though we arrived way past the official check-in time, one of the rooms was still not ready for check-in. Also, the staff did not inform us that the toilets on our floor were faulty and could not be used. We only found out when we arrived at our room, and discovered that the toilet bowl was filled with murky grey water. A housekeeping staff came later with a pail of water, and informed us that we had to use that to manually flush the toilet instead. She could not tell us how long it would take for the cistern to be repaired. Service (especially at the check-in point) is considerably lacking for a hotel of this class. The hotel was very centrally located, and very convenient by MTR. However, it took some time to get a taxi from the hotel. Rooms are generally clean, but seem a little old. Except for the very poor check-in experience, the rest of the stay was fine, though we would probably choose to try other hotels in the area first before going back to Excelsior again.

This is first time we had sea view room that stay in Hong Kong hotels. The location is excellent, in Causeway bay area. Just very short walk to shopping center, time square, etc. Lots of Restaurants are just a few of minutes walking. Staff are very professional, very friendly, and efficient. It was little surprised to me that they charge internet/WIFI for money, since Hong Kong is so tech advanced city. It really doesn't cost too much for provide guest this service.

Great hotel and location, more for the business traveller. We looked at staying one more night but found it so expensive compared to the price we got though Hotel Travel.com so moved a block down to another Hotel for half the price but with the same standards but 3 star. Only disappointmmet we found the towels rather hard and thin for a 4 star hotel.

i am generally pleased with the service of the hotel. one evening i came back to the room to find only one towel in the bathroom - there are two of us in the room - and i called housekeeping. the lady who answered the call was courteous and apologetic and was prompt to respond to my request. i am impressed!!!! one small hitch was when i was leaving the hotel by the side glass door one morning - one of your well-dressed suited staff was standing 2 steps from the door - i thought he would have come forward to help open the door, but of course he did not. though there was eye contact, he did not move from that spot. maybe he is an executive, or maybe i am not well-dressed enough, or maybe i am a fellow asian ---- there are lots of maybe's, but the gesture of a smile and offer of assistance would be a bonus point .

The Excelsior Hotel was a nice place to stay and average for a Hotel of its class. If I had to pick a fault, I would say that the food in the coffee shop was quite expensive.

The counter clerk upgareded my room to harbour view with a king sized bed as the hotel was running out of the double bed room as stated in my confirmation. That was a joyful surprise! A complimentary drink was another surprise so I and my mom could enjoy sipping our juice in the Dickens Bar which is a very relaxing place for watching TV and chatting with friends. The location is another advantage so we can do the shopping until 11.30 PM!

Great find! This hotel has an excellent location, close to shops and public transport. The service was great - although we had to wait an hour for our room to be ready on arrival, the staff were most helpful and did their best to rectify the situation. The cafe at the lobby was the perfect alternative to "boring" hotel breakfasts. The rooms were well-furnished and was nice and quiet at night. Will definitely come back to the Excelsior on our next visit!!

We did try to dine at one of the Excelsior's restaurants, but each night they were busy. In fact it was rather disappointing as both evenings the restaurant had been booked out by a private function. We did however manage to eat at the English-style pub downstairs - great food, great service and if you're into your sports like we are, an opportunity to watch the Premiership and Six Nations Rugby! I'd defintely return, my only gripe being that the hotel restaurants weren't available to hotel guests.

Bed - very comfortable bed and duvet (cover). I think this is one of the most important part for a good stay (the other part being the cleanliness and brightness of the bathroom). Excelsior scores well in these. Bathroom amenities - would help if you can also provide body lotion. I don't see the hair dryer - may be I missed it - but if not, good to let us have the choice of one. I don't usually need the combs and dental kits as I bring my own (is this the case with other guests?).

Great location and very nice room. However a very disappointing feature for this 4 star hotel was that they rip you off for hi-speed internet!! They charges HKD 130 per 24 hour period or roughly US$17. I would think an amenity for a hotel like this would be to provide FREE hi-speed internet access. I stayed at the Express by Holiday Inn, a couple of blocks away for HKD770 (approx US$100 per nite) with FREE hi-speed internet. I was paying US$160 per nite for a larger room with a view, but still the charge for internet was HKD130 per 24 hour period. I declined to use it at that rate. Also because of this rip off, I did not utilize any facilities of the hotel other than the room. I questioned this with the assistant mgr and he just said "sorry sir". On your website, there was no mention of internet access ...........so I believe in this day and age, a comment specifically about whether or not hi-speed access is available and whether or not it is complimentary should be included for ALL hotels.

I thought that the room considering I paid a discount rate of USD 250 was in need of complete refurbishment. Although the bedroom layout was for a King size bed, there were two single beds pushed together in the room. The decor was drab and in need of refurbishment. The bathroom was adequate but that was all. Don't think I will stay there again.

Very welcoming staff and surrounds of this hotel, fast checkin and departure, the staff were very helpful, especially the Assistant Manager, as I lost my camera and he went to a lot of effort in helping me obtain a Police report. We would recommend this hotel to our friends.

Value for money hotel in the Hong Kong island, especially when i got a great deal through hoteltravel.com. This hotel is located right at the famous shopping area Causeway Bay in Hong Kong island, with the MTR training station within 3 mins walking distance. Another plus point is the hotel is situated at a corner, away from the crowded and noisy street. It's also convenient coming from and going to the airport - just take the Airport train to Central MTR station and there's also a coach that brings you to and from the Central MTR station. The famous Kowloon night market shopping is only a 20mins train ride from the hotel too. Lastly, chinese restaurants, cafe such as Starbucks, fast food restaurant such as McDonalds or the local cafe area all within walking distance.
