I have used Charterhouse many times and this time, I chose the "Signature Floor". The room was clean and decorated in a pleasant, modern style. The walk-in shower, with multiple jets and sprays, was particularly nice. The room was not large but comfortable enough. The only negative aspect of this stay was the noise, from the street below and also from adjacent rooms. This "Signature Floor" is floor number two so is quite close to street level and traffic noise was a little bothersome. There was other noise from another room, mainly the television volume up too high but it did not continue too late into the night so I did not bother taking the issue to the management. Overall, a very pleasant stay and the staff, as always very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely consider staying there again, at the "Signature Floor", even though it is more expensive than "standard" rooms.Hotel Facilities

The concierge,Peter, speaks very good English and went above and beyond the call of duty to assist me in severeral ways. He physically escorted me to the bank/Atm to insure my safety, arranged my flight to Qingdao, had the air ticket delivered to the hotel for me and arranged my taxi to the embassy to get my visa and later to the airport. The front desk people were cordial and eager to assist in every way and before I left the manager greeted me and chatted with me in a very friendly rather than business like manner. I have already suggested to one of my friends that will be traveling through Hong Kong in March to stay at the Charterhouse and will continue suggesting it as a great hotel option in Hong Kong.

The hotel was at a convenient location to hennessy road where the tram, buses and taxi are abundant. However, it may be a short walk to Times Square 6-8 mins( need to cross 2 small streets ), one must be prepared to walk another 10 mins to get to the mtr train. ( Even thou the entrance/exit of the MTR station is directly linked to Times Square, the underground walk to reach the trains is rather long.) But it is no doubt a very well-located hotel with 7-11 just a few doors away and dim sum restaurant a street ahead. I have no idea about the conditions of their other rooms eg. standard, superior,deluxe cos I upgraded to their S signature room. It was well decorated and much bigger than wat i expected, contemporary in design with an L-shaped writing table, open concept wardrobe area , small pantry. The bathroom was fantastic with double bowl vanity and I loved the rain shower, the size of the shower cubicle was big which can easily fit 2 adults comfortably. Being a designer myself, I think its rather worth the money for the details they took into consideration.There were Bedside lamps which can be adjusted when reading, bath robes and bedroom slippers for two. The LCD Tv was a good size and the bed was comfortable. I was rather irritated with the yellow window film they had on the window panels as it makes the whole room very yellowish in the day. No choice but to bear with it till evening. I suggest that they shd remove it. I also realised that the room I was given is the biggHotel Facilities

The hotel offers a nice, quiet and clean place to stay with friendly staff and a reasonable price.
The hotel is located next to Causeway Bay – a famous shopping district. There are so many department stores, shops. You just need a lot of time and money there. The big problem for me was to pick a restaurant for my next meal as too many to choose. The hotel is surrounded by the public transports; bus, tram (still HK$2 since my last visit 2 years ago), MRT. It make easy for you to access everywhere in H.K. In the addition, a traditional market is just one block away, you can buy some fresh fruit at a very cheap price.
The hotel charges HK$100 for up to a 3 hours internet usage, I couldn’t use it as I just need a few minutes to check my email. It was the only disappointment I had during my visit. Otherwise, I were totally satisfied with the quality of the service and had a very enjoyable time there.
If you are a budget traveller, but you are also looking a decent place in H.K Island to have an enjoyable time, this hotel is for you.Hotel Facilities

don't go to the concierge, they are not good! my parents asked them how to go to the Ocean Park, and the only answer they told was "taking a taxi"! After many stays at the Charterhouse this was a shock. A dirty mouldy bathroom awaited us, with a stained and apparently unwashed blanket on a very small and uncomfortable bed. The fridge didn't work, and the TV had very little reception either. After complaining, we were given a worse room, with all the same problems as the last, and an airconditioner that sounded like a large car. This room was also so much closer to the road below, so we could not open the window. The 'business center' was a couple of old computers hidden down a service corridor behind reception. The Staff were very friendly, but any requst seemed to be too confusing for them to achieve without some delay. The dicounted room rate Hoteltravel.com got for us was excellent, however I would hate to think that any other hotel would give such a low class, dirty room to make up for the price difference. You can not beat this price for a hotel in HK...it is convenient in Wan Chai area and less than 10 minute walk to MTR...I lived in HK years ago and have since stayed in a dozen or more hotels...this is by far the best value for the money. Could I find something to complain about? Of course... but the room I had (#918) was clean, quiet and the a/c worked. The hotel staff were friendly as well. When I found this rate I could not believe what a great deal it was. I was worried it was too good to be true. I have stayed at this hotel before, so I knew what the normal price there was (once you add in the tax the normal price they quote you will cost double what this website charges for the exact same room). I was very relieved when I showed up at the hotel and my room was waiting for me no problem. I came back again a week later after my meetings in China with another hoteltravel.com reservation too. I will definitely use this website every time I travel to Hong Kong, its the best deal out there.
As far as the hotel goes, I knew what to expect, so I wasn't surprised, the rooms are clean and have everything you need, albeit a bit small for two people. Also its not super convenient to the Hong Kong subway, but there is a bus stop literally 5 steps out the front door. My only big complaint was the TV. its old and small and the reception on many of the channels is prettyHotel Facilities

The hotel was neat and clean and close to the local bus and tram lines. The hotel was about a 10 minute walk to the Wan Chai MTR Station. There are restaurants, minimart and markets near the hotel. The room is quite small and tv program is not so interesting. The HK convention is far to walk from the hotel. There is a free shuttle service from the hotel to HK convention but it is only one time in the morning and must be booked in advance. Taxi is very convinient. The hotel looks old. Room size is ok but the furnishings are old and depressing. It could do with a new coat of paint, carpet, etc. The rooms should all be made non-smoking. The non-smoking room that I had still had the stench of tobacco. Staffs are helpful and friendly in general.
