We got "delux" rooms which were fantastic. Not huge, but big enough, immaculately kept, fantastic harbor views, and the quietest room I have ever stayed in- absolutely no noise at all from the corridor or surrounding rooms. Great buffet breakfast, georgeous pool, friendly and extremely helpful staff. I liked the location - not a tourist area, but a very interesting neighborhood in Hong Kong. A long rambling walk, or short cheap taxi ride to "western market" streets. The hotel has an hourly shuttle to the subway, there are buses right outside the door, and the tram is a block away. We have booked two Jen rooms with harbour view without breakfast. During the check-in at the Hotel we were informed that breakfast, Broadband Internet in the room, access to Club lounge on the 28th floor and free minibar was all inclusive in our price! This was an unexpected and nice suprise. All Hotel staff were at all time very friendly and we liked the room size and the modern furnishing as well as the beautiful harbour view. We will in future for sure return to this Hotel since we got very good value for money. I definitely can recommend this Hotel.

The hotel upgrade us (a party of 3) from standard room to suite. The suite is spacious, bright with a view of the harbor. The hotel is not close to MTR, so taxi/bus/electric cars are required. It is close to Hong Kong University. The one thing about the suite that may not suit everyone is that its bathroom and bedroom is separated by see-through glass panels.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms. We stayed in standard rooms and they were large enough to fit 4 people. The bed ensemble reminded me of "heavenly beds" made famous by Westin Hotels. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel has a shuttle service which was very helpful. My only complaint would be the internet access. It was too expensive-- it costed me $150HR ($20 US) for 24 hr access... and $7.50 US for an hour. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as it is close to central and it is near McDonalds, KFC and other shopping areas.

It is our honeymoon. They arranged a top floor room for us with a bottle of welcome wine. The location is not close to central / downtown; however, their shuttle bus was avaliable every hour from hotel to central. In general, basic English communication is ok but not advance... ....(They didn't understand lundry)

If you can afford it, best to go for the Harbour View rooms as they are newer and cleaner. The Standard rooms are a tad grubby, especially the bathrooms. Housekeeping was a bit sloppy and the Front Desk people were rather aloof and uninterested. One didn't catch what I was saying, so she simply gave me a false smile and turned away. Our first stay was good and that's why we returned, but not sure if we'll go back again.

Very modern hotel slightly out of the city center but this is more than compensated for by the free shuttle service that that operates every hour orso to a reliable timetable. The room temperature can only be adjusted downwards from 20c, which in January is a bit chilly, the only way to increase the temperature in the room was with a mobile heater which was promptly supplied on request.

Fantastic service, great clean rooms with excellent views - was a welcome change to have such attentive, well mannered staff who went the extra mile after being in some parts of Russia - even when we had to return and spend an extra night courtesy of a typhoon they were fantastic. A little gem in a atmospheric but convenient location in Hong Kong. Would recommend anyone to try it and see!

This a nice, clean hotel. It is a 30 minute drive from the airport, so keep that in mind if you have a short time in Hong Kong. The staff was friendly and willing to assist us when needed. We stayed on the 28th floor so our room came with breakfast, which was nice since we didn't have to find a location to eat each morning and we were able to enjoy breakfast looking over the HK harbor. We were very happy with this hotel and would stay here again.

The hotel room was clean and I had the good fortune of a room that overlooks Victoria Harbour! Splendid! Hotel staff were generally friendly and helpful. The only flipside is that it's tucked away in the Western part of HK, you'd need to travel a little, perhaps about 15 minutes by tram to get to the nearest MTR station which is the Sheung Wan station. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and will definitely go back!

This was a lovely modern hotel on Hong Kong Island. The location is a little out but the hotel has a shuttle bus and the tram is only 2 HKD or a taxi 20HKD into central. Clean and Modern room. The pool was open till 10pm and they were always on hand to give towels. When we asked for things they were taken to the room in minutes. Nice area and easy to find a taxi. Did not have a breakfast package but they did have tea nad coffee facitilies in the room. They cleaned the room every day and it was always 100 %. The tram staopped close by and so did the airport bus. There were always taxis and the hotel shuttle bus was very good. Nice view from pool, good towels, clean and opened till 10pm.
The swimming pool was lovely and so was the gym. They are both open from 7am~10pm. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very kind!
I would stay here again.

Facilities and service good, and one of the most comfortable hotel beds i have ever slept on with decent pillows. However, hotel a long way away from central Hong Kong Island, with no public transport nearby. Plenty of taxis though. Harbour view discription is a little deceptive because you cannot actually see the classic "lights of Kowloon" view, that you would be able to see from Wan Chai or Central, because the hotel is too far west. Management of maintenance services needs some work as hotel started knocking down wall next door at 1030am on Sunday morning, for 2 hours. As well as improved customer management, they need to rethink design of facilitiies in bathroom/toilet so that major work is not required to fix problems. Overall a good place , if you accept the location. For a short 2 day trip would probably have a chosen a more central hotel had i realised.

I was very pleased with the quality of the room and did not mind much that the hotel lobby was still under renovation at that time. Its not really in Sheung Wan, more near Kennedy Town. The walk from Sheung Wan MTR is about 20 - 30 minutes, with trams and buses going there. A taxi from Sheung Wan MTR to the hotel is around HKD 20-25.

Overall the hotel was just barely okay. The first room we were put in was small and had a terrible view (of the ugly building beside us). The shower head and pressure were bad, not so much information about Hong Kong, and no breakfast. We had requested a double bed and both of the rooms we were allocated had twin single beds. I expected more for the price. Also it was MUCH further away from central HK than we thought. To the staff's credit they did move us (after numerous things went wrong in our room), and the gym was okay (nice view).

This was a value-for-money and efficient stay. On my first night the water pressure in the bathroom was absolutely terrible, I let the staff know and they fixed it promptly while I was out during the second day. There is a tram and bus stops within a minute of walking which takes you to the MTR stations, which makes up for its Western location. The hotel's shuttle bus is free and runs every hour, and is very useful for going to the airport express train station.

The only negative thing about this hotel is that it is too far from the central shopping places and the MTR. We had to take the taxi out to the MTR everyday, even thought HK Taxi wasn't so expensive. I believe there are other hotels in HK with better locations and for a cheaper prize....besides that the hotel quality was ok...Hmmmm... another negative thing about this hotel is that not many taxi drivers know the location of the hotel.

Hotel looks nicer on the outside and in the lobby then the in the rooms. The rooms were small and bland. I was surprised at the lack of Amenities - no toothbrush or paper slippers or even bag for the laundry.
Hotel has some good features - staff was attentitive, pool, food, decent TV service. Location is in the Western section of Hong Kong Island - no big thing really as buses, taxis and the tram stop near by.
For the value I would rate it medium. At $70 a night it is just ok.
Not happy with the small bland rooms but it served my purpose and the airport bus comes so that was all that mattered.

I was very happy with this hotel. The room was pristine and all fittings in good order, and I appreciated the thick towels, bathrobe, and toiletries. The best thing was the vista from the window, as I was on the 25th floor - I could not bear to close the curtains when I went to bed, enjoying the winking lights of buildings, and boats scudding by on the harbour. The staff were very cordial and informative when asked for any assistance. Hong Kong's famous double decker trams are only a block away - travel upstairs for a good view of the lively street scene.

the drinks were expensive at bar. The room was shabby and in need refurbishing, considering it was supposed to be deluxe accommodation with harbour view, it should have been explained that the view was between two huge buildings and the harbour was ferries going past at 100 miles per hour at a 500 metre distance....The swimming pool was empty and therefore not in service. Staff very pleasant and cleanliness of rooms was very good.

The room was on the smaller size but very clean and comfortable enough for 2 people. Shuttle bus provided daily service except Sundays to the Ferry stop, Central MTR station and Admiralty station which is pretty much all that is needed since you will mostly be travelling by MTR, the Central drop off is a good point to start. I enjoyed my stay there and the rate I received through this site made it even a better value! David the bellhop was a pleasant face to see every morning with his ever present smile! It was a comfortable place to stay. We couldn't really find much in the way of tourist information in the hotel, but we didn't bother to ask as we were meeting friends who showed us around anyway. We were pretty self sufficient and just used the hotel as a place to sleep. We had no problem getting taxis from the hotel - the staff either ordered for us or we picked one up on the street. Am thinking of going back to Hong Kong next year, and would stay there again.

All the facilities you would expect from a 3 star hotel were present, but it was a little cramped (possibly this is typical from somewhere as populated as Hong Kong). When I booked this room I had little knowledge of Hong Kong and it turned out that this hotel was much further from the 'hub' of activity than I suspected. Within walking distance of the city centre, if you are fit and wearing comfortable shoes! We walked to and from the ferry terminals to go to the outlying islands, but it took a while; however taxi's were generally easy to come by should we have chosen to do this. There were a lot of other hotels nearer the 'centre' however, and for similar prices. I would not stay in this one again. It does have a harbour view, but only just and from the higher floors! Staff were helpful, with a good standard of English (and other languages) spoken.

Pack your Chinese New Year with excitement by spending a day among the rides, shows and attractions of Ocean Park.
Chinese Lunar New Year is the most important of all the Chinese festivals and is the most frenetic happening in the country. It occurs on the 1st day of the 1st moon (January/February) with celebrations lasting three days. Firework displays, lion (or dragon) dances, parades and much more fill the streets with their gaiety and colour. This is also the time to shop for bargains as many shops hold sales with items being cut by 50% or more at times. One of the main horse racing events falls over Chinese New Year as well and this sport is certainly popular with locals and tourists alike. Many shops close for three days over the Chinese New Year.
Che Kung occurs on the second day of Chinese New Year. Che Kung was a Sung Dynasty general who is believed to have saved the inhabitants of Sha Tin Valley from the plague centuries ago and become an immortal and was elevated to a Taoist deity. Today gamblers worship him, as a ‘god’ and crowds now flock to his main temple, near the Hong Kong Jockey Club's Sha Tin Racecourse to wish him happy birthday.
