Zakynthos, popularly referred to as Zante by holidaymakers and the travel industry, is the third-largest of Greece’s Ionian Islands and one of the country’s most popular summer vacation destinations. Zakynthos International Airport is the only airport on the island and hence it’s the primary international gateway. The airport serves flights to and from mainland Greece, as well as flights to a number of major European cities. Thomsonfly, Thomas Cook Airlines, Monarch Airlines and First Choice Airways collectively provide flights from a large number of UK cities although many services are seasonal charter flights.
