Through an non descript door off the street to a grand four star entrance stairway with marble steps leading to a then disapointing 'two star' hotel. No restaurant for evening meal, no bar, no facilities ie pool, gym, sauna, very impersonal hotel, would be ideal for a 'turn up and sleep' arrangement, perhaps a business person.. Parking is very limited within a restricted street although there is an area of free parking nearby this is nearly always full.
The location is good however within easy walk to the old town and the Bahnhof, trams, bus, taxi. Generaly quiet at night although the back rooms face out onto the rear of a residential block and this can be noisy at times. Breakfast can be a let down if you are used to a larger hotels 'hot buffet selection' as this was not available here, although the cold buffet breakfast was adequate. English speaking staff were helpful and friendly although you never seemed to see the same members of staff twice, although as a tourist here it was not an issue. Overall not a bad hotel just as long as you didn't expect more from it before you get there or miss read the glossy pictures that have been taken of the entrance hall......
