"It was very cold during our stay so the fairly short walk to the nearest underground/S-Bahn station seemed quite long. I'm sure this won't be so noticable in more clement weather. The hotel is in the old east of the city where everything is newly refurbished and smart. The tank in the atrium is a must-see for all tropical fish lovers with lots of different species. Breakfast is truly extensive and good. rooms good, modern furnishings, spotlessly clean, linnen changed after 2 days, nice complementary toiletries, flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities.
pool is good, a bit small, but can be used for swimming due to a "current" system. Choice of sauna, cooler sauna and a nice tiled steam bath. Good shower facilities, small relaxation room, small fitness room. The smart cafe/bar/additional breakfast area is in the centre of the hotel with a view of the giant fish tank. Contemporary design throughout. all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
the breakfast was good, you could get freshly baked rolls, toast, cold meats, cheeses, antipasti, salmon, pickled herrings, jams, cereals, different types of milk (incl soya), good juices, several types of fresh fruit as well as a fruit salad, waffles, pancakes etc etc.
Of course, this is quite a pricey hotel, but for a hotel with pool in the centre of Berlin this is good value for money.
the hotel is within easy walking distance of the museum's island."
