Airports

Providing the chief gateway to the Pyrénées-Atlantiques département, Pau Pyrenees Airport (PUF) is a modern, single terminal facility handling vast numbers of annual passengers. A comprehensive selection of services and amenities is provided, among which are essentials such as ATMs and bureaux de change. Wifi access is available across the terminal for notebook owners. Outlets for both dining and shopping are also on hand.

The airport is close to the city centre and connections between the two are provided by a shuttle service that operates four runs per day and by taxis that can be rented from outside the Arrivals area of the terminal. Drivers wishing to leave their vehicles at the airport will find car parks provided for both short and long stays.

Public Transport

Direct rail connections between Pau and major French cities are provided by SNCF, allowing for speedy access from Paris, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Geneva and other destinations. Bus services operated by Eurolines provide access from across Europe. Road access is provided primarily by the A64 highway.

In the city, public transport is provided by STAP, with an extensive bus network offering connections to all major destinations in the city and suburban areas also. Tickets can be bought on the bus from the driver, or books of tickets allowing four return journeys are available from the STAP office or tobacco shops.

Students with valid identification and a certificate of enrolment at a local educational establishment can purchase a Campus Card that’s valid for a week, a month or three months of travel.
