Lyon Introduction
The city of Lyon is one of the most interesting destinations in France. The city is the undisputed centre for silks, textiles and has a very vibrant fashion industry. There are several entertaining activities available to families with children in Lyon. Two primary animal-centred attractions are located in the city: the zoo at Parc de la Tête d’Or and the Aquarium du Grand Lyon. There is also a longstanding tradition of puppeteering in Lyon, and many of the local theatres offer special productions that cater specifically for children.

Lyon’s Saint-Exupéry International Airport is located 12 miles east of the city centre in neighbouring Colombier-Saugnieu. The airport is well-connected, both internationally and as a regional hub. Formerly known as Lyon Satolas Airport, this three-terminal facility’s current name pays homage to Lyon native, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
