I stayed in a single room which was extremely small and the bathroom was very dimly lit.I also felt that the lift areas on the floor I stayed on (2nd Floor) was very grubby, in particular the doors of the lifts and the buttons were very dirty.
The main reception area and restaurant was lovely and the staff were very pleasent so it was disappointing to be let down in the areas detailsed above.

Ammenities and services should be available as listed and not something listed as an ammenity but requiring a charge, BTOne for example. Also, the staff was courteous in their tone and comments but totally worthless inthe information provided and assistance given. Example, I asked for a receipt of my charges and was told I had to get them from the travel agency (that woul be you). One staff person told me that I had to get a wifi voucher from the hotel but that they were out, another told me I could sign up on line. One hostess told me that sheo could have breakfast early on our return day, the hotel said I needed to ask for a box breakfast (which I did) but it was not available at the requested time. I asked and paid for an additional bed for one night but had to schedule that a second time. Service seems to have a definition that excapes me. Prior to the trip I had emailed the hotel asking for a piece of information but never received an answer.

Room was good size, but headboards not attached to wall. Beds moved freely which if you went to sit on same, they slid from under you.Bathroom very dated and tired as with decor in bedroom and rest of hotel. However it was clean, and staff were very helpful

Really good location, being next door to Victoria Sation - really handy for Gatwick Express. Concierge desk was excellent, with maps advice and help with cases. Just 10 mins walk to Buckingham palace and right beside the Apollo theatre.
Quite an old hotel with a bit of a musty smell - but that's to be expected. Breakfast was just ok.
Was disappointed to be charged an upgrade fee to have a double room - an extra £60 (£20 per night) as that was what I thought I booked - and it quite clearly said double/twin on my confirmation - but I wasn't going to stand around and fight!
On the whole - I would go back.

Overall, the hotel was well maintained, but the staff made many errors, including accidentally rebooking my room to someone else! failing to clean the room properly, and being confused by my paying for room-service with cash. Although they apologised, they made no effort to compensate me either.

The room was dark and small. The windowframe was so old that through the cracks a constant stream of cold air came in, as well as a lot of street & railway noises!

Good: Exelent location at Victoria station, acceptable rate
Bad: Very depreciated room, bathroom and furniture, high noise level from the street due to old metal window frames.

Generally I found the hotel very pleasant, staff were excellent and the public areas were very comfortable and impressive. on the other hand, we were told that we had a deluxe room, and we didn't think it qualified to be described as that. It was small and the decor was rather dated. I would have no hesitation in staying there again.
