Thistle Hotel Euston is a sort after hotel with both leisure and business visitors wishing to be close to everything the city has to offer. The hotel is very basic and has little in the way of recreational facilities.

Small rooms, difficult with 2 suitcaes - no where to put one of them. Easy 4 minute walk/access to the underground and National rail if travelling north. The undeground has increased it's prices recently and a single journey in zones 1-6 is now £4 or a day ticket for £5.10p. Buses are a cheaper option @ £2 per journey. The Thistle Euston has some deluxe rooms which overlook a park and these are definitely the best option as others overlook the northern rail line and a light well. Check out is 12 noon and if you need a late check out it costs £10 per hour extra. Bag storage at £1 per day is also expensive. Most restaurants in this vicinity close at 9pm, some earlier and there are only a handful anyway. Next time I will stay in central London because the extra you pay for a room you pay in fares to get places from Euston, especially when there are two to pay for. The Thistle Euston is the starting point for many Cosmos tours so is convenient if you are doing that but it creates havoc with the lifts when they are coming and going. No porters so you have to carry your own bags a definite nuisance.
Small lobby, especially when large tour groups are coming and going, the lifts barely cope and there are long waits. No porters to help with luggage. Inconsistent room service some days we got a bath mat and shampoo, no shower caps, tissues not replenished for two days and one day there was no toilet paper. Breakfast was good, but opens at 7am not 6.30am as the reception staff will tell you. TV only allows access to 5 channels + pay TV, should have cable access available. Close to Euston underground and rail station. But hotel overlooks the northern rail line on one side - we stayed one night in a standard room on this side and 4 overlooking the park in a deluxe room, I'd suggest making sure yuo get a room overlooking the park.

The hotel was wonderful and in a prime position to visit the tourist attractions of London. We stayed here for two nights and then returned for a third night. On both occasions we found the front reception staff to be extremely rude and unwilling to assist with request for information.
