we loved this hotel. Room nice, breakfast quality. the only down side for us was the bar closed early so at 11pm when we got back to hotel we had to drink in our room. We thought the drinks from the bar were expensive too. ...

I was disappointed with the Hotel. I have stayed there twice before and had an excellent experience and beautiful room. However on this occaision the hotel did not have our reservation (although paid for in full at time of booking) and I feel put us into a very small and dingy room. I felt quite embarrassed as I had recommended it to my party.

I've been staying at this hotel for 20 years and have always found it charming, super convenient for getting about in London and not bad value for money, although its prices are creeping up. Small quibble, the tv seemed to turn itself on in the morining waking me up. A malfunction? Perhaps a ghost?

on entering our room we found that the toilet had been used and left unflushed.\this was reported to reception. We asked to book a table in the restaurant but was told it was full and had to go out to eat.

they tried to give us a room that was totally different from the one we had originally paid for: it was in the 8th floor (elevators only go until the 7th floor), the room was small, old furnished, on the rooftop, hot water didn´t work, etc etc staff was not helpful at all, breakfast times changed from day to day without warning, and even the new room they gave us (after giving us the louzy excuse that the old room was "silent for being on the last floor") had problems with hot water

When I arrived I was given the key to my room and with my family went up to the room I had been given. It was a such a shock the room size was appalling and the decor in the room was poor. Wallpaper peeling off and it is ws dingy and grubby looking. It was like a box room in a 3 bedroomed 1930's house which had not had refurb. My disapointment was also as I knew the hotel had recently had a refurb for about 15 million which they advertise on the web pages. I think this room and the room my friend stayed in had been missed off the list, maybe because they really were the broom cupboards in disguise. I must say Nivad the manager was lovely and changed my room each day to a better one, if I had stayed longer I would no doubt have ended up with the presidential suite!!

Room was very small, old fashioned and getting tatty, but extremely clean and adequate, hotel was fine and would recommend as ideal location for touring, staff were friendly, drinks expensive.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Requested a quiet room and we got one. Good breakfast. Hotel had character which both my wife and I appreciated. Room was fine with a small but interesting bathroom. We will certainly use hotel again. Only downside was once you had flushed the toilet the cistern took forever to refill.

I was in this hotel three nights. I arrived and they gave me a romm with wallpaper peeling off, and mold, MOLD!!!, on the walls. I complained and they were nasty, and told me that I could have a better roomonly if I payed an extra. Appaently they consider mold on the walls normal. Highly overrated hotel, and not worth the price. They give to Hoteltravel their worse rooms

Excellent hotel, very central, good service. I recommend upgrading to a superior room, the difference from the standard room is huge and the difference in cost is negligable.

Very good location; very pleasant room with small balcony and nice view over Russell Square. Very clean, well-kept, solid. Felt very comfortable and secure there. Would stay there again.
