Excellent location.Check in staff very helpful.Bedroom clean and tidy , situated on 6th floor at the rear of hotel so little noise.Very uncomfortable bed,needed new mattress & bedroom furniture could have done with updating.On the whole a pleasant stay.Will stay again when next in London.

I was in a room not far from the housekeeping room, and while i was in bed still in the morning they were talking too loud. Also my service in the breakfast room was good, but it was a busy bank holiday weekend and they needed more staff for others.

It is in a good position in central London. Rooms are a good size for London and good service. The only thing which we didn't like is the continental breakfast in which there is nothing served with the toast except butter and jam, i.e. no cold meats or cheeses. The rest is all ok

My second stay at the President. Very pleased with the room, which has recently been upgraded. Small things like bits of grout and filler round the edges of the headboard trim not cleaned away stopped the room having an excellent rating. Also two lifts were not in operation and caused problems at busy times of the day, notably breakfast time. But will definitely be back!

hotel was clean, room services was done every day (altough the time was a litte bit early at 8.00am), breakfast wasnt so bad either. the location was brilliant just 2 mins away from the tube station and 10 mins walk away from tottenham court road and oxford street. overall best stay and value for money paid will visit again soon!

We needed a central Hotel for a low budget and we couldn't ask for more. Everthing was fine,"we got what we payed for",as they say.The staff was friendly and helpfull,the Hotel was clean and efficient,breakfast buffet aplenty.Had a couple of drinks at the bar one night before closing time and again nicelytreated.Will definitly not look any further on our next trip to London,that was just what we needed.Leave in the morning after a good breakfast and come back in the evening to a rather quiet and central Hotel.

This long weekend went from one problem to another; no Internet for 4 days, no cold water one day, breakfast room ran out of sauces, and refused to replenish. Staff generally releuctant to help, "Not my problem" was generally the answer. Fire alarms going off, with no explanation or information. "Breakfast included" means drink and toast. For anything more substantioal, an upgrade is required. Generally poor. It was nothing special, but generally ok. Shower curtain inadequate, and causes bathroom flooding. No Internet facilities for four days, no water one day, no working coffee machines one day, no toiletries supplied, need to ask,, and the staff appear annoyed when asked.. Not committed to helping or working with the customers, the dy the cold water wasn't working, we witnessed several arguments at the reception desk, the staff arguing loudly with the justifiably upset customers. Asking for anything in the breakfast room; you either get ignored, or given a bad look. Coffee machines break down and are slow to get repaired. To upgrade for a nourishing breakfat, 4 pounds per head, per day. To leave a bag with the porter, for safe keeping, 50 pence per item.
This is the second visit to the hotel; my first had similiar experiences, but I was ready to believe it was a bad time, and they were usually bette; I was disappointed to find that they were actually worse.

A great option for someone who doesn´t want to spend a lots of money but yet prefers to stay close to the center of London. Tube station is just round the corner along with the park or a grocery store. This hotel is a great value for money. Nothing luxurious but on the other hand definitely no hostel-like place either. The only bad thing I experienced was the lady from cleaning service knocking on our doors at 8.30 in the morning which considering our late arrival from clubs could have been put off till later. So if you are not an early bird, don´t forget to use "don´t disturb" card.

In general this is a well worn and highly utilised tourist class hotel in need of a good refurbish and our only major disappointment was that the standard size double bed had a longitudinally sagging base that caused our bodies to roll toward the centre of the bed. This did have the effect of disturbing our rest.

The location is excellent to travel around in London. However, compare to the amount of money we paid, the breakfast was not up to standard, and since we had to spend four days, it's rather boring. In addition, the room was not very clean (most fabric material are rather dusty).

Improvement suggestions:
-The serving staff in the breakfast restaurant could use a smiling course. Ignoring guests talking directly at you is not a professional way to behave.
-Leaving wet towels and dirty linen on the floors of the hallways during room cleaning is directly un-hygenic. How about some linen bags or a cart?
-Leaving ample response time when knocking on room doors for servicing in the mornings would be good. I am not happy when they just storm in.
-Getting rid of the smell of cooked fish that constantly lingers in the lobby and hallways would be a big pluss
Nevertheless,the very helpful, service oriented and smiling concierge, the standard of the rooms and the location makes this a very good value for money hotel.

The President Hotel is in a very convenient location for us, to visit our daughter, who is living and studying there. We were very close to the Russell Square underground station. We felt the hotel was extrememly clean but a little outdated, not what we are used to in the U.S. The staff definately went out of their way at all times. We would most definately stay at he President Hotel again!
