London- the very name suggests history and a powerful past. However this isn’t all that London is about. Vibrant, pulsating and dripping with opportunities for entertainment or sightseeing by day or night, it's a city that exhilarates and intimidates, stimulates and irritates in equal measure.

Changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace
An event that’s fun for the whole family is watching the changing of the guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace. From Buckingham Palace you can easily walk to other sights including; Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus, River Thames, and even Hard Rock Cafe. Keep in mind that the ceremony will not take place in the rain.

Pantomime
With roots deep in Celtic legends, medieval morality and the art of mumming, the modern version is a post Christmas ritual enjoyed throughout the country. People pack into theatres to see old favourites loosely based on stories such as Cinderella or Jack and the Bean Stock. These are updated to touch on current political scandals or celebrity gossip, and a celebrity always stars in the show. Held at theatres all over during January and February.

Big Ben
Big Ben is the international icon of London, and looks most spectacular at night when the clock faces are illuminated. The 95 meter clock tower was completed in 1858 and takes its name from Benjamin Hall - the first commissioner of works. The name Big Ben actually refers not to the clock-tower itself, but to the thirteen-ton bell hung within. Underground: Westminster
London has four main airports: Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted. There are frequent public transport services between all four airports and to the city centre. The services run frequently, apart from transfers between Stansted & Luton airports. Allow 1-2 hours for inter-airport transport.
Although England is a part of the EU (European Union), it has kept its own currency – the pound sterling (£). One pound is divided into 100 pence (p). Coins come in 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p as well as £1 and £2 coins.
