The room allocated to me was dirty. Cobwebs on the mirrors, flaking paint on the bathroom window, bath was badly stained and human hair was in the bath and shower rail, floor tiles in the bathroom had grouting missing. There was no remote for the television. I returned to the front desk with my complaints and was told that it would be rectified immediately.
My partner and I went into town shopping for three hours on our return we discovered that nothing had been done in relation to my earlier complaints. I requested to see the duty manager and made him aware of the problems, as we had coffee in the resturant the manager returned and upgraded us to room with a sea view. Although this was cleaner it still fell short of a four star hotel. Most of the staff seamed to be East European and they struggled to understand English.
This is the only hotel I have stayed at where the guests are expected to pay an extra fifteen pounds to park there car in the hotel car park, this is not refunded.
