Rated #16 for all Cairo hotels
This Hotel is perfectly located in Cairo on the Nile, the breakfast is excellent and the rooms had a great view of Nile boat activities. I recommend the Grand Hyatt Boat Dinner Cruise. My only surprise was the amount of time it took the Hotel staff to check us into the rooms after informing me that my reservation had been canceled by the agent who made the booking? The Hotel eventually tracked my reservation and I was allowed to have my rooms at the rate I had confirmed. My stay was otherwise uneventful. The room service staff seem however to take forever to make up the rooms in the morning ...

I stayed 3 weeks in Grand Hyatt Cairo during March-April 2008. it was a business trip. I took my time to search for a better hotel to serve me during my stay. and Grand Haytt was my best choice and it never disappiont me ! it has a very nice location. a great view. but a little bit crowded. everything is very near to you except City Starts mall (the biggest mall in cairo)who will looking for a shopping trip !. its about one hour from this hotel during rush time. I had a problem during my check in, they told me that they does not received a copy of my voucher from my travel agency. and while I tried to call the emergency number that I had. they came back to me and said.. Ohh!! its ok now. we received it already!!. I shocked at the begining because I paid in advance the full amount of my stay and it was about 7000 $. so no chance to f&^& me up !! :). and because it was not my first time to book via hoteltravel.com I was a little bit confident that there is a mistake.
in general, the hotel is the best hotel that you wanna stay in, a resonable rate comparing to Four season hotel which is infront of grand hyatt hotel. and it cost 600$ per night (the lowest rate they had). it was my first time in cairo. and I hope it will be the last time. nothing personal :) but I dont like to repeat the country that I visit unless it worth it ! and nothing worth to come back to cairo. a very crowded, un orginazied, nothing deserve that amount that you will pay for get a awaful service in every where. but the hotel is great. I got a club room in 32nd floor. the lounge service is great. they provide a free drinks, snacks, free internet wireless. except your room, you had to pay 45 $ per day to get a wired internet service !! even when you're in a club room !!. they should thinks about that again!!. I recommnded Intercontintal city starts or Holidayinn city starts for families who likes shopping, play areas, fine resturants in city starts mall. if you think about getting your brakefast, dont take it from club lounge, try it from the resturant in lobby floor. it has much better varaites. Hmm, thats all in my mind.
no free internet service in your room !! you had to pay 45 $ per day or 18 $ per hour !! to get this service !

I have stayed at this hotel twice - once in 2005 with my daughter and just recently with my partner. This first time was an excellent experience; the second was unfortunately fraught with too many problems for it to be so enjoyable.
Firstly, if a pool experience is important for you, then the Hyatt is an obvious option - it's large, attractive, enjoys a breeze off the Nile and sun all day. The food served here, however, is not inspiring and the service problematical this year as their kitchens were not open? We enjoyed a superb poolside lunch at Four Seasons across the road - although a little expensive and the sun disappeared behind the building around 1pm. The water in the pool at Four Seasons was warmer.
As it was our second visit, I decided to upgrade to a Club Room which turned out to be a mistake for us. The cost difference on the hotel website is about $50 per night (I discovered later) but the difference on the website I booked with was $100 and for that we expected a significant upgrade.....
The Club Room entitles you to a free meet and greet service at the airport (which is very worthwhile as they purchase your visas for you and collect your bags), access to a private lounge on the 30th floor where they serve complimentary breakfast, soft drinks and snacks plus, between 6.30 and 8.00pm, free alcoholic drinks and buffet. There is also free internet access.
What we were not happy with was:
a) The meet and greet is not included if you book through an agent (not me
