Hotel was exactly as described on the internet. I would have appreciated coffee making facilities in the room but it wasn't a big issue for me. Food was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful, although the reception staff were generally quite aloof and only replied to questions; not giving any help beyond that which was requested. I would stay at the Hotel Akros if I visit Quito again and there was nothing I would wish to seriously criticise negatively. As a tourist, it would have been helpful to have attractions, tours, etc. advertised by brochure in reception and there was none. ...

The Akros Hotel was as good as advertised but could benefit from being a little more tourism focussed.

On the 21st of April each year the town of Riobamba marks the famous Battle of Tapi with a load of merrymaking. Agricultural fairs, street performances and special markets fill the town throughout the day.
Labour Day: the entire nation gets a day off for this national holiday honouring those who work for a living. Most people enjoy the day with their families by going on outings or getting together at home.
