On the east coast of the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana is one of the country's fastest-growing resort communities. A string of leviathan, all-inclusive resorts with countless first-class amenities appeal to package tourists, offering them the opportunity to experience the country in a safe and relaxed environment.
Underwater activities can be especially exciting for children. Anyone seeking PADI scuba certification can enrol in courses through the resorts, but there are several variations on diving that require little to no certification. Many travel agencies organise sea-walking expeditions where the participant can remain underwater by wearing a mask fitted to a tube secured to a tank above water. Coral reefs and sunken ships are both available for exploration.
Given the community's vast resort infrastructure, Punta Cana has no trouble entertaining its guests. Pristine ecological reserves are open for guided tours on which hikers can learn about the indigenous plant and animal life, while horseback and helicopter rides open up the hinterland, revealing secluded waterfalls. The single most popular tour is to the Saona Islands, where idyllic beaches and a traditional fishing village await guests.
Once you are based in Punta Cana, transportation includes tourist shuttles, taxis and buses. Many package tourists are offered limited transportation as a part of their inclusive holiday package. Taxis cover a broader range of transportation, and prices are determined according to a fixed-rate system that ought to be posted in the vehicle. It's best to inquire about the price before boarding.
Nationals of most European and North American countries do not need a visa to enter the Dominican Republic. Visas for nationals of other nations can be obtained from Dominican embassies around the world. Tourist visas on arrival are issued for 60 days. A general rule for passports: periods of validity remaining on the passport must be twice as long as the period of intended stay.

This month's lucky winner is Mr. Laith Addabbas who lives in Jordan.
