Paphos, a historic city surrounded by ancient myths, is located on the southwest coast of Cyprus and has recently been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Archaeological sites are Paphos’s main attractions and include the Archaeological Park, a medieval castle and the Temple of Aphrodite. There are a number of museums detailing the city’s rich history as well as ancient art and relics. Other attractions include the beach, the surrounding scenery and the famous Roman mosaics that have been discovered here.
Paphos is largely a family destination and because of this, there is an extensive range of activities for children and the whole family. A firm favourite is the Aphrodite Water Park, while the surrounding countryside is great to explore. If the Paphos’s natural attractions fail to keep the kids entertained, there are abundant manmade sites to discover.
Despite being a popular beach town, Paphos is drenched in history and because of this it boasts a wide range of attractions. The city is famed for its Roman mosaics, which are housed in Roman buildings throughout the town. The medieval castle is a great trip for the whole family while the ancient Tombs of the Kings will impress any history buff.

Located just 16 kilometres from the centre of town, Paphos International Airport is a hub for charter flights arriving in the country. It is not the main airport on the island but it does see regular flights from the UK. The main carriers are British Airways, Cyprus Airways, Ajet, First Choice and FlyJet.
