Limassol is served by international airports in two major cities: Paphos or Larnaca. Paphos International Airport is located 69 miles from Limassol and operates a single terminal. Flights from here connect to multiple cities across Europe, with limited connections to Russia and Egypt. Onsite facilities include ATMs, currency exchange booths and a limited selection of restaurants and shopping venues.

Larnaca International Airport is also just over 64 kilometres from Limassol. This is Cyprus' busiest airport, with connections across Europe and into Asia and the Middle East. Facilities here are broader, with a greater selection of shopping and dining venues available. Bear in mind that this airport does not offer long-term parking facilities. Both Larnaca and Paphos airports are connected to Limassol via taxi and public buses, though many visitors opt to hire a car.

Most visitors reach Cyprus by air, though it's also possible to charter a coach that operates in tandem with a ferry service to the island. Journeys like this from mainland Europe can be exhausting, and most visitors prefer to fly in. Once on the island, buses become more convenient, providing reliable transport between regional towns and cities. There are no trains on Cyprus.
Taxis are preferable to buses for their speed and efficiency. Akis Express and Kypros Company are the major competing taxi firms; both offer 24-hour point-to-point service across town. Hiring a car is recommended as many tourists visit areas that aren't otherwise easily accessed by public transportation. Hire firms can be found in the city centre as well as at the airport.
