We had two stays in two weeks. On the first stay the reservation was incorrect on check in but dealt with painlessly enough. The room was nice and on a high floor overlooking the city to the sea. The food was generally of a high standard and service was good except from the concierge who had some difficulty answering questions about our upcoming travel in Cuba and may no effort to find out. On our second stay the first room was looking in to the internal courtyard and so we asked to be moved but the second room was very worn and so we upgraded to a suite which was inexpensive and fantastic. ...

The service on this stay was mixed with our laundry being returned with someone elses and we were wrongly charged which we explained at the desk as the laundry service staff spoke no English. We handed back the clothing that wasn't ours and gave the correct amount to be charged over to staff to be latered on our account. The incorrect amount was charged on check out and as it was 4 am when we left we simply had to pay it and we weren't goping to argue over $10. There were also mistakes with room service an at least one elevator of three was out every day. However these are relatively minor quibbles - overall it was better than other comparatively priced properties in the Americas and most of Europe. We would recommend it and certainly stay there again. The constant barrage outside the front door of asking for money, taxi's, carriage rides, cigars etc takes a little getting used to but similar experiences are common in may parts of the world.
