The diner or breakfast buffet was very disappointing: there was few choice and the quality was ok but not wondeful. More dishes diversity would be appreciated.
It is nowhere written that we need a cap for the swimming pool so having to pay 70RMB for a cap which was not planned is quite expensive.
The room was kind of big but there was no real decoration, barely only beige walls. This can give a gloomy feeling and especially doesn't give the cosy/confortable expectation that we can have for a Shangri La hotel.
The bathroom looked clean but old! Difficulties to go to the swiiming pool (have to buy a cap at a very expensive price).
We have to pay for the internet access in the rooms while we can have free access in some very unexpensive chinese hotel elsewhere! Staff is very friendly and helpful! Few choice in the buffets. Quality good but can be really better.
Good location. Very easy to find a taxi.
The Shangril La hotel in Xian is a good place to stay, if it was not a Shangri La chain it would be very good but I think you can expect better from a hotel which belongs to Shangri La network. We can really see that this hotel is tourism oriented (the luxury aspects are a little bit downgraded). So in the end: a good place to stay if you don't have too much expectations for a Shangri La hotel. |
