When my wife and I came down for breakfast, the girl who led us to the table asked for room number. In response to my wife's answer, she remarked "only one room?". Not a very diplomatice nor innocent remark, quite uncalled for. in fact insulting to a married couple. We take offence at this....

Handrails next to the toilet would be distincly useful for older guests.
Hot breakfasts were lukewarm and served on cold plates.
The hotel charges £0.5 PER MINUTE for internet access - while others, and even local cafes offer free access. It was cheaper to send emails using my UK mobile.
Little real information in rooms about the facilities, e.g. swimming pool etc.

The Location is of course nice, as it is located in the best area in Shanghai but it is in no ways up to the standard. They still have age old TVs in rooms. They still charge 5RMB/Min for internet in rooms. You have to wait for 10mins for a taxi to arrive. The options in the menu are too limited. The service in the Park Lane Cafe was too bad. The room carpet was old and had patches. The bathroom was pretty small too.
