Great service (usually although you do get the odd blank stare & lack of help from the girls on reception, made up for by the great concierge service). Rooms are comfortable though looking a bit tired & dated now. Wobbly switches, scuffed furniture & bathroom hardware that's wonky/broken/noisy occasionally. Pool is good and gym is OK. The Italian restaurant is good, breakfast is a bit of a frenzy but great choice though the coffee is AWFUL & the staff randomly ignore you.

Kind of disappointed with this hotel; for the price I expected a very nice hotel but it turned out to be just a standard one. I booked a double bed room but was initially giveen twin room. After complaining I could get a double one, but in the smoking section; not so nice. Once inside, the bad fell apart, I could see that the bathroom was not so clean. I even had to clean few parts myself as I couldn't stand to see some things. The website tells you that your room will be equipped with an Ipod dock, which was actually missing. Had to call to ask one to be sent up. I used one bottle of water which was close to the bed. It appeared this bottle was not for free; ok fair enough. But instead of telling me when I checked out, then took the initiative to charge it on my card without asking me before hand. As my card was an international one, I had to pay high bank taxes for a small bottle of water. I am living 2 streets behind this hotel, the management has my contact and they preferred to charge my card rather than call me to explain the situation and let me the opportunity to pay with local money. My point of view: really not up to the standard.

The location of the hotel is ok and I have heard many fantastic thing about Longemont but food, service and location just don´t live up to my full expectation and will therefore only get average ratings.

I stayed in 4 hotels while on this trip, this hotel was by far the best. My 6 year old son who was with me, loved the hotel and was disappointed with all the others we stayed in. I would stay here again if ever we are back in Shanghai.

Superb gym, very clean, excellent food, a retreat from the busy city. I stayed for 25 nights so had the time to see their weaknesses if there were any. Happily there were very few. Clean, friendly and a great hotel if you like exercise. The spa was extortionate though. RMB800 for a massage, when you pay RMB80 just outside.

This is the 4th time that i have stayed at the Longemont, so obviously I liked the hotel. The only minor complaint that I have is that there are rooms in the hotel that have poor ventilation, ie the central AC does not work well. But if you happen to be given a room like that, a room change can easily solve that

I have a lot of experience with Shanghai's 5 star hotels. For the value of money, I will say this one is the best. There will always be some problem, this is Shanghai, won't surprise me. The point is for the money I paid every thing in this hotel was good enough.

This is my 2nd time staying at the Longemont in the past 2 years. It is a very good hotel and fairly priced. It is a bit out of the way and only a limited public transportation options are near by. The gym is one of the most entensive that I have seen amongst Shanghai 5 star hotels and the breakfast buffet is not too bad. My only compliant this time is that the A/C in my room was not working well and despite getting a technician to fix it, it still did not work well which resulted me making a room change

To stay at Hotel Longement in Shanghai was a pure pleasure. It is my favourite Hotel so far, and I am pretty sure I will stay here also during my next visit. The staff was very service minded and the meals I had in the buffet restaurant were excellent.

It was a very nice trip and although I was concerned since Regent does not manage it anymore, everything was fine. The only thing is that I looked forward to the cigar lounge only to find out that they were out of nearly all the cigar types other than the most expensive ones which by the way are ridiculously priced.I would definitely return there.
