building was cold, beds were extremely hard, there was no hot water, and the rugs were dirty. It was tolerable because of the location and because we only stayed one night, but if I had planned on staying longer I would have been very unhappy. Generally seemed very under maintained. The hotel was in a good location, but if you needed any assistance, advice where to go etc or even order a taxi, you were not in luck. The staff, even at the tour desk, spoke little or no English and seem to have little knowledge of the area, attractions etc. We are used to travelling by ourselves, so got round this problem but it might be more difficult for people travelling by themselves for the first time.
The bathroom attached to our bedroom was incredibly cramped and worn. bathroom very poor, no hairdrier, worn bath, no room to move. Some light bulbs missing and hotwater for tea always had to be rung for. The room itself was of a good size and adequately furnished. But a great position for getting to the tourist spots. Location safe and easy walk along the river to most tourist sights and very near town centre. |
