It was a good stay in terms of comfort and accessibility.. What was annoying were two things- firstly, the staff majorly does not understand English and hence there were difficulties with room service, front office and restaurants. Secondly - a slightly rigid and dis- concerned attitude - i had to check out a day early due to an emergency and as a team, we were vaccating 2 suites though we had paid full advance. There was no compensation/ refund given for my unutilised suites for a day - resulting in a direct loss of $550 for us.Most bothering was the rudeness with which we were told that nothing could be done about it.

We stayed three nights in Star Hotel and then we continued to HongKong. Hotel located beside East Railwaystation where trains goes to HK. Guangzhou isn´t good place to do shopping, but there are couple of shopping center near hotel. Nothing bad to say about hotel.

I would definately recommend this hotel if you are going to stay in Guangzhou. It is very close to all transport and the service within the hotel was great. The Laundry service is very expensive but that is about the only bad thing I have to say about the hotel. The massage centre in the hotel was cheap and excellent too.
