The location is most liked..Room kinda of old,i think renovation is required. Carpet look worn out. No swimming pool,no lounge. Service quite slow. Service very poor and food not tempting enough. Near to shopping areas. No transport provided. No swimming pool at all.

We were in the LIDU hotel Guangzhou during 1 till 9 april 2008. We used a double de luxe room. Price 280 RMB per night excl. ABF. Location of this hotel is excellent for shopping street. Its very simpel to reach the hotel dfirect from the Esat Railway station.Take the subway to the Gongyuangian Central point, 7 stops, go out direction Beijng Lu and walk southly to the Lidu Hotel. Its a 10 minutes walk. The hotel offers a counter with direct bustransport to HongKong.The only bad thing is that this counter is not friendly and able to inform about transportation in Guangzhou. The Buffet Dinner is only 48 RMB and there is a good variety of Chinese food.The Breakfast buffet is very simpel but good assorted with chinese products. When you arrive in the Lidu hotel the reception offers you a system to discount the Buffet Breakfast.The reception is always in the mood to inform about what to do in Guangzhou, although they don't speak any english. The rooms have been cleaned every day and the roomservice is excellent. The LIDU hotel is a good place to stay for a couple of days, but there are also good or better hotels in the same pricerange nearby the CingPing Market . That is a better location for nightlife and shoppingstreets. There are also more restaurants and possibilities to taste the original chinese foodstalls.Its a good idea to use the Pearl River boat which has many stops on the Bays of the Pearl River. The ticketprice is only 1 RMB.You can stop where you want and the trip is wonderfull.

Location is excellent. Walking distance to shopping area & restaurants. Rooms are clean & spacious. Staff are very helpful and polite. Will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to all my friends who will be going to Guanghzou in September.
