The rooms here are very poor to look at - mine was tiny, it's cheaply painted walls festooned with smudges and scribbles, and a simple, old-fashioned uncovered radiator to keep back the Beijing winter. There was no cable TV and the only Chinese English channel, CCTV 9, didn't come with sound. Having said that, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and functional, and fundamentally those were the most important considerations. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. Basically this is not a place to stay if you are on a prolonged jaunt in the city and are planning to spend any time at the hotel rather than out exploring, partying et al. However, if all you want is somewhere to spend the night, especially if you're catching a train in or out of the city, then I think this hotel is good value for money.
