This is a great place to be in Beijing. Best location and superb service and value for money. Clean as a whistle and very friendly. We were even given a free upgrade but even without this I would have been delighted by the choice of hotel. If you are planning a short stay in Beijing and want to see the sites and live in comfort, look no further....

The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The room was excellent for the money given it's location within the city of Beijing. The walk to Tiannemen Square and the Forbidden City was not too far at all. I very much enjoyed my stay

Highly recommended. The hotel is very clean and is a manageable walk from the Forbidden City and Tian'anmen square. It has a good number of restaurants around and a mall nearby. It is 15 minutes away from everything! (except the Great Wall :D) And because of the winter season, the hotel was very liberal. Since they are renovating and we booked a non-smoking room (in preparation for the Beijing Olympics, I suppose), we were upgraded to a suite. The hotel also did not charge us extra for my kid's meals. I just hope they really impose the no smoking policy on the designated floors. I also will not recommend the massage at the 2nd floor (not hotel operated). Will I stay there again? Definitely!!!

The hotel itself was in a great location, just a short walk to Wangfujing. We also walked to the Forbiden City, but it may take you 30 mins.
- The room was very clean and housekeeping were very attentive. We were looking onto the road and it was not noisey.
- The reception staff were friendly when we were checking/out. But not the most helpfull when we had a problem as their English seemed to mysteriously get worse.
- The food in the restaurant was very good, lots of choice for both western and chinese cuisine. The buffet breakfast and dinner is recommended.
- We never used the other facilites so I cannot comment on the swimming pool or gym.
All in all, we had a really good time at this hotel and we would stay at this hotel again.

we booked a triple room for 3 adults and the room was soo cramped that we would have had to crawl over each other to get to bed. We asked for a more appropriate room and were shown 2 even worse. Finally we had to pay for an upgrade to have a bit of space. Original room was worn and pool not as clean as our 1st visit 2 years before. I thought 3rd time we would be lucky but will never go back to stay there again. Rooms in need of a face lift

Rooms were a little tried could do with a few touch ups, but in all an excellent hotel in a great location. i would stay there again in a anytime . staff were excellent

Why can the Hotel in China for each minute on Internet take 2 Youan? If they will/should take for Internet a normal price would be not more than 30-40 Youan/Hour.
The sheet and the bed was exelent.

This hotel is located just across the street from The Pennsula, one of the very high-end hotels in Beijing, and is good value for the price. The service is very good although sometimes not everyone's English is perfect so there may be misunderstandings. I was there alone for a few days and felt very safe and well cared for. The restaurant for meals other than breakfast is not the best. It is very close to one of the big shopping districts in Beijing and a brisk walk to the Forbidden City. It is very easy to get a taxi here. I highly recommend this facility.

I have been in many Novotel around the world (last one was in Dubai) but this is the worst I have met. I also told the reception that my room is old, wall are dirty and I have no comments for the bathroom. It is only because I had already paid.

Since I had read some negative reviews of this hotel on another site, I opted for the "superior" room, hoping that would land me in the newer of the hotel's two buildings. Due to a misunderstanding, the staff initially checked me into a standard room in the older buidling. As I'd read in that review, the furnishings here were quite old. Plus, the room was too small to be "superior". These facts led me to question the selection of that room. After a lengthy discussion, the staff did move me to a room in the newer building (the staff's English is fair to excellent, depending on whom you talk to). This room was of an appropriate size and typical of run-of-the-mill American hotels. To my surprise, the furnishings here were not brand new, either. But, they were perfectly comfortable and did not detract from my stay. We only ate breakfast in the restaurant; excellent. We also stopped by the bar a few times in the evening to listen to the band; also very good. The fitness center was clean and spacious, but lightly equipped. The only highlights there were the two top-of-the-line treadmills. The hotel's location is excellent with the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the Wangfujing shopping district, and Donghuamen night market all within 15-20 minutes' walk.

We travelled with 2 children - they had space to run around in the room. Great hotel. Excellent location. 10 min. walk to the Forbidden City. Walking street only 2 minuts away. Perfect. The hotel had all the facilites you need for a town vacation. The kids loved the swimming pool, after they had been walking the whole day. Perfect location both for shopping and sightseeing. Excellent hotel for the money - we will be be back

Rooms
Toiletries were not replenish.
However, other services such as request for assistance to safe and request of
iron and board are prompt and satisfactory.
Restaurant
The bowls, plates at the restaurant were chipped.
Food were placed under the air-con and certain dishes were placed too far away to be reached.
Waiters & waitresses should be more attentive to customers' needs eg replinishment of coffe & tea etc.
Overall
The hotel services is above average.
The level of services of reception desk and conceige is above average.
Overall, it gives a comfortable feeling to customer during the stay.
Would come back again.

It would have been nice to have a soft or hard boiled egg. I wasted many eggs in search of one that was edible. On the other hand, the made-to-order omelettes were very good and the crepes were excellent.
