The best thing about this hotel is its location.You can get on Beijing Rapid Transit line 2 from the hotel. We stayed here 3 days and extended our stay 4 more days because we enjoyed this hotel.

When we checked in, the air condition in the room was not working. It took a few calls, including one to the duty manager to get the maintenance chap to come up and repair it. After repair, the air con still sucks but not as much. No brochure available for tours and attractions in the city. Air-conditioning is weak and not cold. No tour desk or brochures available. No variety for breakfast, that is something to look into. Quality of food as compared to prices. Next table to us are some chaps from Shanghai and they complained about the prices, quality of food and services throughout their one hour dinner. Staff are friendly enough.
Next to Metro and also located near the Tian An Men and Forbidden City.
Location is good and your rates is better than the listed price. Just do not expect too much from the staff. Pray that you get a room with working air condition.
Location is good and that seems to be the saving grace for this hotel.

I enjoyed my visit at the Howard Johnson Paragon. It has a great location next to train station and subway. Close to Tianiman Square, Forbidden City and shopping areas. Hotel was clean and bright.

Blair, the Canadian-born Guest Services Manager, is doing an excellent job. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast, especially the friendly staff who helped serve it. The location of the hotel is quite good, as the Henderson Shopping Center is pretty handy to have right next door. Some taxi drivers couldn't find the hotel even with the helpful directions provided them in Chinese. Bet that'll be a problem during the Olympics, too. If I have occasion to visit Beijing again, I shall certainly stay at the Paragon. Enjoyed it very much!

Hello! I'm very glad i had the opportunity to stay at this hotel. Not only is it very good located, but the service it offers is excellent! Very nice and polite staff, internal access to a nice shopping centre, and what's more very close to Wanfujing Street! The breakfast buffet was very good and varied, the waiters and waitresses were all very helpful people. I really enjoyed my staying and would definetely stay again next time in Beijing :) I absolutely recommend it to anyone who visits Beijing.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel except for one unpleasant incident - the "thuggish" behavoir of the hotel's taxi drivers who parked just outside and "owned" the hotel. They behaved like the hotel is " their territory " to which outside taxis are excluded and cannot come near. We wanted to take a cab to airport. The hotel taxi driver refused to use the meter and demanded 150yuan. We have only paid 100yuan from airport to hotel and hence not happy with the demand. An outside taxi came along and wanted to take us, but the hotel's taxi drivers warned him not to take us and chased him away. Such "thugs" taxi drivers staioned just outside the hotel certainly do much damage to the hotel's reputation.
The hotel taxi drivers , unlike all other outside drivers, also refuse to use the taxi meters on other occasions.

Room is excellent quality and spacious by standards. Very convenient to get around town by taxi. Not far from CIOF, about RMB 20 ~ 25 by taxi. Finding F&B is very easy, Westen and Oriental alike. Front desk personnel speaks English and breakfast is average in terms of varieties and quality.
Only problem is getting back to the hotel by taxi may pose a problem. Not many knows Howard Johnson, but should get yourself back on track by indicating that the hotel is near to the Beijing Railway Station. Will be staying there whenever I am in Beijing.
