Rated #69 for all Beijing hotels
Great hotel and very friendly. We were able to stay at this hotel because of the relatively cheap room rate (compared to 3 star hotels in europe), but was caught out by the expense of the services within the hotel. Expect to pay £5 for the bottled water in the rooms and we even got caught out by a £4 chocolate car from the minibar (we probably should've checked the price list admittedly).. breakfast was £18 too.. very costly. Best stick to using the room and utilising the restaurants in the surrounding areas. ...

(1) Reception staff were not friendly and not helpful. Some ignored arriving customers until they approach/ask them. They should try to assist customers in the first place. (2) Room cleanliness (for example, carpet) is below expectation.

We had 3 people staying in the room - and had plenty of space for all. Room was clean, had a good clean bathroom, plenty of cupboard space and even included slippers and 2 bathrobes. The TV was in good shape and the mini-bar was well stacked. We were quite staisfied with the room. And, the price was very reasonable compared to the other big city centre brand name hotels. We enjoyed our stay in Beijing and Beijing Hotel very much. The hotel location was excellent - we could walk to Forbidden City, Tien' Amen Square, shopping restaurants etc. Our room was clean, spacious and had good amenities. Price was very reasonable. Cabs were courteous. But, the restaurant food rather poor and the front desk and restaurant staff cold, unfriendly, rude and argumentative.

The Beijing Hotel is in a fantastic location for shopping and accessing some of Beijing's most popular tourist attractions. The hotel is very spacious with a swimming pool with lane swimming and a modern gym. The rooms are modest but roomy. Size is good - bathroom needs a bit of an update and the carpets need either a good clean or change. Overall the Beijing Hotel is very good value for money. For the price, the facillities and location of the hotel make it a good place to stay. However, the staff need to be a little more friendly and more realistic prices for in-house eating.
