The Bamboo Garden hotel in Beijing is a classical Chinese style structure which lies in the center of the ancient city on a quiet lane west of Drum Tower. The property was formerly the residence of Sheng Xuanhuai, the Minister of Post in the late Qing Dynasty. The hotel is also known as the garden of Li Lianying, a famous feudal eunuch in Qing dynasty. The halls and pavilions in the building are linked by long, winding corridors, greeting visitors with tranquil and elegant bamboo groves, rockeries, and fountains with filled of exotic flowers and rare plants. The hotel design provides a unique contrast of the modern facilities and comfortable surroundings.
