Quebec City Introduction

Quebec City in Quebec province, Canada, is doggedly faithful to the traditions and language of France. Quebec City is also unique for being the only walled city in North America. The town is famous for its Winter Carnival, and for its Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day celebration. Other attractions include the resplendent Montmorency Falls and the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre. The big Quebec Aquarium and the equally impressive Quebec Zoo both reopened in 2002.

The capital of Quebec province, Quebec City, is one of Canada’s most charming and picturesque cities, offering a wealth of architectural gems and natural beauty. Its population is composed of 95 percent French-speaking residents, adding a unique cultural element to the city and increasing its appeal as a visitor destination.

Skiing and snowboarding are popular pursuits among locals and visitors alike, while for something a little different a dog sledding excursion packs some thrills. For family visitors, venues such as the Parc Aquarium du Quebec and Lavertu Extreme are good options.

History enthusiasts rarely miss out on visiting Battlefields Park and the Old Port, while nature lovers invariably pencil Montmorency Falls Park near the top of their to-see lists.
