Canada Introduction

Canada is one of the world’s most beautiful destinations, with its relatively small population spread out over the world’s second largest country. Canadians are renowned for their easygoing nature and penchant for hospitality, making the country an ideal holiday spot for travellers. The country spans the North American continent, and is surrounded by three oceans; the Arctic, Atlantic and Pacific.
Canada’s largest cities are all unique, ranging from French-inspired Montreal, cosmopolitan and modern Toronto, western-themed Calgary, and the country’s West Coast equivalent of San Francisco, Vancouver. Hotels in Canada range from very plush 5-star accommodation to quaint smaller hotels budget-friendly for families.
Well regarded for its majestic landscapes and spectacular natural wonders, Canada is a perfect destination for the outdoor type. Hikers, anglers, hunters and skiers are especially well-served by the country’s vast open spaces and mountains, offering a multitude of choice when planning a trip there. In mountainous British Columbia, located on the Pacific Ocean, travellers can expect to find a staggering range of resorts catering to every type of active lifestyle, with its soaring peaks, idyllic lakes, and rugged coastline.
In central Canada, most of the population is fixed around Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta. Calgary has especially benefited from the Winter Olympiad held there in 1988, which put the town on the map as a prominent winter sports playground. Working class Edmonton is an oil town, with its industrial base and has one of the lowest densities of population of any North American city. Further east, Montreal offers the distinct flavour of a European city, given its French influences that have blended together one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Toronto is Canada’s business and financial centre, a true metropolis sporting gleaming skyscrapers and a sleek, modern identity befitting North America’s sixth largest population area.
Canada is truly an environmentalist’s haven, with its infinite range of fauna and flora, varied landscape and inhabitants who have great respect for their land. No matter what one seeks in a great holiday, one can find it in Canada, North America’s “Jewel of the North.
