The Steung Siemreap Hotel is a comfortable oasis set in the French Quarter, within walking distance to the Old Market centre of town. A fine and historic elegant hotel, established in the early 1920s, the Steung Siemreap Hotel, has been beautifully renovated, retaining her true French colonial characteristics. Wooden louver French-windows, doors and wooden floors grace the property, complete with wrought-iron balconies off every guest room. Guest rooms are spacious, clean and inviting with balconies overlooking the swimming pool.

was excited after reading good reviews but horrified by cleanliness. arrived LATE and no one there to check me in at first. finally taken to my room where there were huge and very noticable stains all over. i told reception the next day but that night the sheets had not been changed as the same huge stains were there. in hotel's defense i don' t think reception understood english but i also don't think they changed the sheets before i arrived either. moved to a place for $10/night that was in the same area and much cleaner if simpler accommodations but still had air conditioning, satellite TV, private bath with hot water, etc.

We were there in Feb 2009. The location is the best and the room is quiet. Some miss in translation with the staffs but at the end it turn out O.K. Recommend for those who like to be downtown and need quiet room. Good value.
