City River Hotel Siem Reap is a comfortable hotel well suited to travellers visiting the Angkor Wat temple complex. The hotel blends welcoming Khmer friendliness with upscale modernity in a lush location with views of the Siem Reap River. The airport is close by too.

Our room was large with a comfortable bed, had cable tv with loads of english channels, minibar, loads of space to put clothes & bags away. Towels & a good variety of toiletries were provided along with complimentary drinking water each day.
The pool on the roof was lovely, views of the whole city, lit up with fairy lights at night if you want a swim when getting back from a hard day at Angkor. Towels are given to you when you go up to the pool & you hand them back when you're done. Plenty of very comfortable sunloungers & some seating areas too aswell as an extra high point with table & ch...

Value for money. Good location, only 10 mins walk to Psar Chas (Old market) area. A lot of tuk tuk outside hotels. I like the noddle soup provided for breakfast, really yummy...

The location is good for us ,just at the other riverside of the pub street, it is safe, clean, quiet and still very close to the center part of the city.Staff is good and very polite, we had to get up early to go to the airport, the restaurant staff got breakfast ready for us to take away.We ordered a supreme room(twin beds) with a balcony ,at last they gave us a room with a double bed and a single bed.The hotel is so good that it really exceed our expectations.I will definitely recommend it to all my friends.

One of the better hotels I have stayed in South East Asia in terms of value for money. Great location just 5 minutes walk from the evening night life. I have no hesitation in recommending to my friends and would certainly stay there again if / when I return to Siem Reap.

Plenty of very comfortable sunloungers & some seating areas too aswell as an extra high point with table & chairs which you could view both the sunrise & sunset from (weather permitting of course!).
The breaksfast selection was decent enough & the bread was lovely & fresh.
It was about a 10 minute walk to the ''pub street'' area where most restaurants & bars are. We would recommend Goodysaurus for cheap drinks & a good lunch & the mexican place Viva (1 on pub street 1 round the corner) which was excellent & good value - far better than the mexican food in Thailand!
We arrived after dark on our first day & when we went out to get food it was a bit intimidating as there aren't many street lights in Siem Reap & even when they are there they can be very dimly lit. After being out during the day though we were fine as we had our bearings though it could be intimidating for a woman alone though the town is meant to be completely safe.
There was some construction work being done on the ground floor when we stayed but they didn't start work until about 8am in the morning & even when we were having a lie in we weren't massively disturbed.
We got an excellent deal on the place at $30 a night but we think we'd still have been satisfied if we'd had to pay the hotels own price of $50 a night. Book online!
The hotel can also arrange a tour guide & driver for you for Angkor, we got an english one with a tuk tuk & it came in at $37 total which we thought was a bargain & we were very happy with our guide.

Currently undergoing renovation for building expansion and noise is discernable in the morning. Understand that swimming pool facility will be available only at end-2007. These are negative points but which will be sorted out eventually, I believe. The reception desk needs to have flight details on AirAsia airline since it is becoming a popular budget airline for most SEAsian countries.

Quiet location but just 10mins walk to downtown Pub st etc. Rooms were clean, although in a need of a little reno (this was superior room). Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple and fine. Would probably stay there again and would recommend it to families on a budget.

Overall, the staff of the hotel were quite friendly and helpful. However, my friend and I were a little annoyed when several of the staff kept pestering us to join the tour packages that they have recommended. One of the reception staff behaved quite rudely after we repeatedly refused his offer. We think that the hotel manager should stop this from happening in future.
On the other hand, there was one other staff who went out of his way to help us, by lending us the use of his mobile phone to call our tuk-tuk driver and declined to be paid when we offered his some money.

The rooms were very comfortable and spacious, large bathroom and storage space. Breakfast provided good variety and was available from 6am. The hotel was in easy walking distance of markets and restaurants. All staff were helpful and opened the door for each entry and exit. As with other hotels, laundry and Internet prices were considerably higher than just around the corner. It was a first time visit to Siem Reap; would recommend this hotel. A quiet area at night.

Great Hotel and freindly service. Within walking distance of the main shopping area/"Pub Street". Highly recommended. (At the time of our visit (Jan 2007) there was some construction going on, however this was only during the day when we were out and about).

The room was nice and big, enjoyed the bath as opposed to a shower only. The staff were nice and friendly and very helpful in booking tours. Strongly advice that all trips are booked thru the hotel. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very afforable. Throughly enjoyed my stay.

In my three week travel through Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, I do consider this one of the nicest and cleanest hotel in the same price range then previous visited ones. Most of the hotel staff spoke English very well . For persons with walking problems, they should be aware that there is no elevator for the second floor rooms. A hotel, especially for overnighting, worth going back to for sure!

My wife and I were suprised that for the same price at hotels in Phnom Penh and Bangkok they in no measure could compete with the City River Hotel in almost every respect but most of all for the cleanness and newness of the City River. Also,a driver was provided free of charge to pick us up and drop us off any place we liked to go in the city. The only complaint we have is the towels:they are not white and clean-smelling,but this could be a problem with even much more expensive hotels in Cambodia too. Thank you very much,Mark, the Manager, and your wonderful staff!
