This was an average hotel for the price I paid. I could get around and knew Brussels, but it would be a bit isolated for most. I think the blurb said that it was 5 minutes from the Midi Station. If indeed it did then that is manifestly wrong as it is some 15 minutes walk (yes, 5 mins by taxi). The nearest metro, Lemmonier, is a good five minutes walk away

Hotel itself is quite good, but area near the hotel is very dangerous, especialy after sunset. The very first evening of our stay we got almost mugged right next to the hotel (about 100m away from the hotel entrance), luckily, there was a policeman around who helped us.

The hotel about one kilometre from Gare du Midi - a reasonable walk without much luggage, or a short taxi ride. The decor is a bit faded. Staff are friendly. I would stay at the Scandinavia again.
