Antwerp International Airport has grown considerably over the last few years. It now services regular flights to and from the UK and the Channel Islands, as well as other destinations around Europe such as Milan, Innsbruck and Rotterdam. The terminal building is small but modern and houses a wide range of facilities including banks, restaurants, shops and toilets. There are also business-class lounges and VIP suites.
There are a number of possible ways to be transferred to the city. There are many local buses as well as shuttles offering fast services into the heart of the city. Berchem Railway Station has direct services going to Centraal Station in the city centre. There are also a number of taxis waiting outside Arrivals offering the chance to ride in comfort to the city at a fixed price.
If you are arriving in Antwerp by land, you will find that there are many links to the central station as well as many buses offering services to cities across Europe. There is a cross-Channel ferry port very close to Antwerp so it is even possible to drive from the UK. You may be driving your own car or you may like to hire a car. If you are hiring, you will find a range of outlets in the city centre, although be sure to book in advance online as this is where you will find the best deals.

Once in Antwerp, you will find a range of public transport options such as a metro system, trams and buses with the central station being Franklin Roosevelt Plaats. It is possible to get daily, weekly or monthly passes which allow for unlimited travel on all public transport services. Ten-trip tickets are also available. There are also taxis on hand to offer services to places which cannot be reached by public transport.

However, the city is also easily accessible on foot and by bicycle so you may want to break up journeys by enjoying some fresh air. Dedicated bicycle lanes around the flat city make cycling in particular an appealing option.
