Throughout Manama there is a plethora of interesting attractions to see and explore while on holiday. The Bahrain National Museum should not be missed with its impressive display of artefacts dating back some 6,000 years. Also worth noting is the beautiful Al Areen Wildlife Park that is home to hundreds of animals, local flora and fauna.

Al Areen Wildlife Park and Reserve
The Al Areen Wildlife Park and Reserve is an amazing protected area for endangered species. The five square mile (eight square kilometre) park is home to over 100,000 plants and trees coupled with more than 500 animals free-roaming and in pens. Bahrain Fort
Situated in the western suburbs of Manama, the Bahrain Fort is an impressive historical site that was once the main city of the Dilmun civilisation. The site has been inhabited for over 4,500 years with numerous settlers building on top of the current remains, which are around 400 years old. The site has recently been inscribed to the UNESCO World Heritage list and is a popular tourist attraction.

Bahrain National Museum
Located on Manama Bay, the National Museum is filled with Bahrain’s ancient archaeological artefacts dating back some 6,000 years. There are three halls dedicated to the ancient culture and civilisation of Dilmun and another two halls showcasing Bahrain’s pre-industrial past. Museum of Pearl Diving
This significant, historic building houses the Traditional Heritage Centre, which showcases the important Bahraini pearl industry. The building was the first official centre for Bahraini Courts and housed the country’s Supreme Courts until 1984.

Tree of Life
The fascinating Tree of Life is a popular tourist attraction that is located approximately two kilometres from Jebel Dukhan. The lone tree stands in the desert, with its water source unknown.
