The story behind the Hut Pointe Hotel is long and fascinating. It was first built in 1944 by the first premier of the Bahamas, Sir Roland Symonette. It was at one stage abandoned for more than a decade. Then in 2004 it was bought and refurbished from roof to the ground floor by investors who were charmed by the region as well as the noble two-storey structure itself. The beautiful, deserted, pink sand Eleuthera beaches are a short walk away.
